If my Nexus 4 die today most probably I'll buy Xperia Z3 Compact.
Godlike battery life with good screen size/spec.
*
why not LG G2? the spec is better and not that expensive.
got 1 for my dad, really good. almost same size with n4 but with bigger screen.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Sep 21 2014, 11:27 AM)
totally depends one usage style and apps in background sync, etc though.

Open 3G (H+) full day with some background syncs like fb, twitter cannot get me through 3 hours SOT. Maximum 2 hours +
*
true that if u r using 3G then the battery life would be bad, but i blame our telecom for poor optimization/deployment of their 3G infrastructure. compact

greenify pro + xposed that greenifies the push notification apps (GCM) does help a lot, but the 3G itself (the radio) is draining too much still. Nexus 4 problem

Wow Nexus 4 is still going strong! Any new rom you guys want to recommend?
*
Recently tried with Purity+ but then the dev just discontinued updates for the rom cry.gif
Not too much feature compare to the others but just enough for my liking.

Don't like the back button placement & LG's software support stinks.

I'm waiting to see how Android L can improve N4.
But the battery in N4 don't really satisfy my needs these days. So I;m looking for a new device. Plan to keep N4 though.

If I can design my own Nexus it would be

4.7" 720p IPS screen with very tiny basel
3000mah battery
64 bit SoC
32-128G memory with SD card support
4G ram
8-13mp main camera with ois
2mp front camera
LTE
Design & Material like LG G3
Water proof like Xperia Z series

But I can only dream.

I wish like this. tongue.gif

CODE
4.7" 720p/1080p IPS/OLED with Slim bezel + 180 viewing angle + high accurate RGB gamut
3000mAh battery (removable or not doesn't matter)
64bit SoC by Snapdragon for sure for developer friendly purpose
eMMC 5.0 16GB/32GB/64GB with expandable up to 128GB MicroSD Card + OTG + MHL capable as well
4GB of RAM LDDR4
8MP/13MP with OIS + PhasePixel Focus + f1.8/f2.0
5MP + f1.8/f2.0 + wide viewing angle (selfie why not?)
LTE-A ready
Stereo bottom or Front-facing are welcome but no thanks to Back speaker!
Nano Coating for splash proof purpose because Water Proof will reduce the speaker capable.

No wonder I feel my wish missing something. Front facing speaker for me to.

But we can only wish.Google might cut some to make the device cheaper. I can live with not so great camera but the battery I wish they change. Also no way Google will add SD card support for Nexus device which Nexus user have to accept.

With Project Volta, I believe Google will make the next Nexus battery life which less than 3,000mAh. So maybe is like 2600mAh or 2800mAh or even worsts than you expected.
