ASx give stable income while UT sometimes give 10+% return on "good" year & gives -ve return on "bad" year.

Those who are familiar will know that ASNB's mantra is "competitive and consistent returns" which is why they are the very few fund managers that c/f earnings to the next financial year. They may not win many awards or have bumper yields often but they have the track record of providing returns year in and year out.

A lot of people miss this point and just go for those with recent high returns or has 5 stars/rating funds doh.gif

If you're looking for decent, stable returns with low risk, ASNB's funds are it. If you really want to chase double-digit returns, go for hedge-fund terus lah lagi power thumbup.gif

eh I tot only the fixed price fund are pro-rated. Once I called ASNB, asking about the AS1M. then they promo me about ASG & ASN3. They said even if u invest 1mth from dividend date, u still get full % of the dividend  nod.gif

Now why the RHB staff said both variable & fixed funds are pro-rated hmm.gif  rclxub.gif

Fixed price - Dividend based on min balance in each month
Variable price - Dividend based on available balance b4 ntitlement

Hi guys,

In RHB Bank today. Asked the manager again on variable price dividend. Told him I heard variable price funds are NOT pro-rated for dividend distribution. He called another person who called back again to confirm. So the variable price fund dividend is based on available balance b4 entitlement.

Thanks ! smile.gif

Yes, I really hate those UT that I bought >5 years ago. Some drop by 10 to 30% in 1 year but could recover like yo yo later. Consistent return is much better than one that swing up and down like no control whatsoever. nod.gif smile.gif

It proves that even bank manager may not know the fact/details. The manager is kind of young. Last week he even told me he has checked before but today turns out the other way round. But at least he did call to someone else who still need to double confirm on this. You guys are the one that know all ! notworthy.gif

Based on my previous conversation with bank counter staff, 100k units can finish around 1 or 2 hours (depend on how many people "try" that time) nod.gif
*
1-2 hours?
i intended to transfer 100K to my sis account, asked 2 counters to do it, one counter staff process the sell transaction, another counter get ready to take up the unit sponteneously, guess what, able to capture 50K, the rest gone with the wind within few seconds.

For those wanting to open new account to buy fixed price fund, no way to open the new account now ? Or have to wait when there is units available, then open new account to buy it ? The RHB manager told me cannot even try.

Sorry, hope I did not sound like broken record. Cannot seem to get a clear answer for the above.

Reminds me of AS1M release day a few years ago. Took half a day off, I went to MB and I was the 3rd in my queue. Guess what? I was very lucky, after my successful transaction, the 4th one in my queue could not open his account. All taken up in less than 1 hour. We non bumis are the desperate lots! Ha.
