Wouldn't recommend CIEMs for jogging,
Take a look at Aurisonic Rockets, built like a tank and supposedly sounds great too. But only pre order at the moment.

the MDR-Z7 is a pair of premium grade audiophile headphones designed and built for a proper setup from source to player to amp  nod.gif  it is very revealing which cuts both ways  sweat.gif  when your audio chain is weak like Spotify as a source, it will amplify all the weaknesses  shakehead.gif  feed it with a proper source through a proper audio chain, it is amazing  thumbup.gif

So what people keep telling me about. It's right to the dot sir. blush.gif It's kinda no point having premium grade headset if you only plug to your tablet listen even to the highest quality downloaded spotify's song (while lying around reading comic). It won't revealed the true nature of the beast sweat.gif but i like the idea of it.

Like others already mentioned, buy 1 cheaper IEM for jogging, and another more expensive for your critical listening.
RM1.5k can get you lower range model for China-brand CIEM or AAW from Singapore.

Hi all, I need your opinion on my next purchase. All this while I have been using the Apple Earpods, and I am looking into buying a nice set of headphones. At this moment there are two that I have tested and liked: Bose QC15 and Grado Labs SR60i.

Actually, I have used the Grado Labs SR60i many years ago because my dad had one and I always listened to CDs using that, hooked up to his hi-fi set up. However, as far as I can remember, that headphones weren't very comfortable and always penyek my ears. But I really liked the sound quality that it provided.

It seems that Grado Labs now have the SR80e which received stellar reviews. I will most likely buy it, but the question I have for you all is: have Grado Labs improved the comfort level of their headphones? Apparently I'm not the only one who has issues with discomfort.

Thanks!

grado comfort is never good. unbend the metal head band to make is less pressure.

My initial choice was the venerable ATH-M50, though it has been discontinued and I can't really afford the ATH-M50X... Is there any good options under RM500? Grado SR125i maybe? hmm.gif

Got my Yamaha EPH-100 on last Thursday. can't wait to plug in and listen to it, 1st impression, holly sh1t, this is what the so called 'audiophile' 'balance' 'not fatigue high' kind of sound? so many good reviews on web as well doh.gif and i never bought IEM with so many bucks, immediately feel some regret. The sound to me is : Bass is not as 'bommy' as described or as tested by goldenear. Mid is OK but mid high is harsh to my ear (Oppose to goldenear there is dip in mid high, which is my favourite), high extension is not as 'airy' as i expected.

So i just try the myth method to 'burn-in' the pairs. Still no good result for me...but wait....

The thing turn around today when i swap the stock middle size earpads to 1 step smaller size. I can hear the harsh mid high is now suppressed alot compare to previous but still not entirely satisfy, high is extended and sub bass can be heard now. I realise that's the matter of how close the driver into the canal. So without waiting, i swap to the smallest earpads come with the package and hopefully it can fit my ear nicely. YES, DONE. it fit deep and nicely into my ears, and it compliment what i thought before. The closer the driver to the eardrum, the more bass and 'airy treble' can be heard due to this 2 frequency will decrease proportional to the increase of distance, leave out the mid high that dominance the music. The sound now is soooo nice to my ears even put the EQ in flat mode. Well done Yamaha EPH-100, no more regret now and i'm really please with it. Later will try to do some fine tune using EQ, i believe it would be perfect to me perhaps for few years. thumbup.gif

the issue here is not wholly on distance to your eardrums sweat.gif it is the seal nod.gif apparently your ear canal is too small for the standard eartips sweat.gif poor seal = poor bass = exaggerated mid hi doh.gif

I bought a pair of headphones there, although not a fan of Lazada, some of the stuffs are much cheaper than what you can find in Malaysia. And more importantly the one i got was genuine since they were listed as an authorized reseller.

Hi guys, I listen to music (mp3) from notebook and android phone, want to get a budget around 300 full size close head phone, I am thinking about superlux hd660 from garage sales but got some questions, I only tested its sibling model hd668b before and like the sound but feel not comfortable around my ears and make my head tire after a while, so is the hd660 size bigger and more comfortable? Can sifu here please advice or something else? Thanks.

Haha, not a fan myself. What to do, the cheapest and Ori wins.

1) M50x limited blue, last time you need to add extra 80. After two weeks of waiting then got the news "supplier failed to fulfill". rclxub.gif
2) Order another M50x black while waiting for refund. 2 days after, received the item only to find out it was broken, only left side produce a sound. doh.gif
3) Return the item (tired part). Received a new one. (It said 'Returned' on the image i posted)

Part 2 & 3 takes less than a week. Well, it's tiring sometimes but the compensation i received from them every time they made a mistakes is well worth it sweat.gif sweat.gif
