QUOTE(-kytz- @ Oct 10 2014, 04:27 AM) Have you tried the Yamaha EPH-100? Warm signature and I love it...it sounds very lively~! Pretty good all rounder earphones (I listen to a wide range of music... ballads, pop, jazz, instrumentals, piano, guitar, flamenco, rock) for my ears, pretty much suits most genres. Highly rated for its price and by the famous headfi reviewer! http://theheadphonelist.com/headphone_review/yamaha-eph-100/Seems to be available at Sungei Wang for auditioning: https://www.facebook.com/e1personalaudio/ph...6631231/?type=1Hi, anyone in lowyat sell this earphone? Or where can i buy online? I stay at JB and i dun think i can get it here.

After some survey, today i order a Yamaha EPH-100 IEM and might reach my door step by this Friday. 1st time buy audio product without test listening, hopefully not below my expectation. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Oct 14 2014, 10:50 PM

Got my Yamaha EPH-100 on last Thursday. can't wait to plug in and listen to it, 1st impression, holly sh1t, this is what the so called 'audiophile' 'balance' 'not fatigue high' kind of sound? so many good reviews on web as well and i never bought IEM with so many bucks, immediately feel some regret. The sound to me is : Bass is not as 'bommy' as described or as tested by goldenear. Mid is OK but mid high is harsh to my ear (Oppose to goldenear there is dip in mid high, which is my favourite), high extension is not as 'airy' as i expected. So i just try the myth method to 'burn-in' the pairs. Still no good result for me...but wait.... The thing turn around today when i swap the stock middle size earpads to 1 step smaller size. I can hear the harsh mid high is now suppressed alot compare to previous but still not entirely satisfy, high is extended and sub bass can be heard now. I realise that's the matter of how close the driver into the canal. So without waiting, i swap to the smallest earpads come with the package and hopefully it can fit my ear nicely. YES, DONE. it fit deep and nicely into my ears, and it compliment what i thought before. The closer the driver to the eardrum, the more bass and 'airy treble' can be heard due to this 2 frequency will decrease proportional to the increase of distance, leave out the mid high that dominance the music. The sound now is soooo nice to my ears even put the EQ in flat mode. Well done Yamaha EPH-100, no more regret now and i'm really please with it. Later will try to do some fine tune using EQ, i believe it would be perfect to me perhaps for few years.

QUOTE(E1 - AKG @ Oct 19 2014, 01:28 PM) the issue here is not wholly on distance to your eardrums it is the seal apparently your ear canal is too small for the standard eartips poor seal = poor bass = exaggerated mid hi Actually standard seal can fit nicely with me too.

Currently using Yamaha EPH-100 IEM, i found the earphone was too bright to my liking. The high extension is great, airy, however the mid high cause sibling when 'S' pronunciation and cymbal hit, and because of this mid high cause the overall signature skew towards bright signature, ear fatigue when prolong listening.
Would like to upgrade to better IEM, with warmer signature, or 'flat signature' is welcomed too. any recommendation? Budget around 500-1000.
