Ahhh i see i see, thank you sifu!  notworthy.gif

May i ask one more thing? I've heard a lot of good reviews for the momentum over-the-ear, may i ask your opinion on its performance at that price for flac music use (jazz, pop, classic etc)?  Is it worth it?
*
I had one momentum over-ear myself and had used it for around 6 month, I would say it's kind of all rounder, everything was being thrown on it sounded good but not too outstanding on certain genre (EDM, Rock, Orchestral..etc) due to its neutral sound signature. IMO, it's pretty reasonable to get the momentum for the music you mentioned. I would find myself unsatisfied if I'm a basshead or a treblefreak. biggrin.gif

Hi guys. I am currently using a beyerdynamic XP 2 IEM. one fine day it decides to go haywire that i have to bend the cable at a certain angle for the sound to transmit properly. Very frustrating to use nowadays.

Would really appreciate some recommendations for IEMs as good as the XP2, budget maybe below RM250. What I didnt like was the design of XP2 which made it uncomfortable to wear it for long hours.

thanks a lot.

As usual, disregard the XP series from Beyerdynamic due to the low quality build and questionable durability.
May i know what's your preference of music? Do you have a small ear? smile.gif

LOL really? should have done more research when i bought it then. It's not even more than 1.5 years of using sad.gif

I generally listen to chinese and korean pop songs, mostly of the ballade and EDM type..? i generally prefer clarity \ over bass.. not an audiophile so don't know all the technical terms sweat.gif using ipod 4 as my music player

i also read a few pages back that some guy recommended the below. gooding?

QUOTE
Can consider Ostry KC06, ATH IM50, or Hifiman RE300H
KC06 is slightly warm and mid is thicker and more focus. Music body more solid.
IM50 is clean, but with larger piece of bass. More laid back and loosen. Sound stage is larger, separation better.
RE300H has the unique sound signature of Hifiman, quite smooth, warmer than the rest, darker and with more bass and lesser transparency.

If you flip few pages in this thread, you'll find a lot people have problem with their XP series beyer tongue.gif

IM50/RE300 might not suit you too well. Take a look on the KC06 as well as VSD3. KC06 sounds airier and more exciting compared to the VSD3, meanwhile VSD3 provide better bass and isolation, a little tamed down treble.
KC06 is pretty bad when it comes to isolation, don't expect to use it on your crowded local coffee shop. doh.gif

The brand is, however their XP series is not, that's a composition fallacy tongue.gif
To test? E1 @ sungei wang, liquidgal from starspickers, or jaben @ subang.

Hi! I am in need of a good headphones for my long flight home to malaysia in june.

Your rig:
- Straight from either my iPhone, iPad or MBP. Whichever has power

What type of usage:
- Mostly music and in-flight movies

File format used in your source:
- Spotify downloaded (Extreme quality) and MKV/MP4 movie file

Genre of music you listen to
- Rock, Jazz, Pop, Metal

Headphone/ earphone type:
- Anything but in-ears

Other requirements:
-Foldability is obviously a major need, Ideally i'd love for it to be wireless because I already have a AKG K450 and if I had to go wired then i'd just bring my K450 and keep the volume low, which isn't ideal. Noise cancellation/Isolation isn't a must have but it'd be nice to have. I'm don't really get annoyed by in-flight noises unless its from the passengers.

Budget: RM300 though I can probably stretch out to RM500 max. Don't really wanna spend too much. still happy with my K450

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

No offense, but if you're going just for the brand, by all mean.
If you like bass and below 200, can look for TTPOD T1E. smile.gif

nola i am considering all options available. the ones you recommended cant be found on jaben's website. maybe have to go to the shop to see myself hmm.gif ooo ok noted. thanks!

how poor is the KC06 isolation exactly? many reviews mentioned that. does turning up the volume helps in noisy environments? my threshold is probably able to isolate noises while sitting on buses/trains/office settings/flights etc.

SHURE SE112 looks promising as well. wonder if the isolation is better or worse than KC06 hmm.gif hmm.gif https://www.avforums.com/review/shure-se112...or-review.10454

guess i have to find a comparison between the two and my own XP2.

It could be easily purchase via online tho. And i dont think jaben carries Ostry/TTPOD and the likes.

KC06 isolation? i would rate it 2/5, crowded local coffee shop - no, buses/trains/flights - no, office - depends how noisy is your office tongue.gif Turning the volume up helps but that's the least thing you wanted to do.
If you want something with better isolation, I would go VSONIC VSD3.

Not sure about SE112, never heard of it or even tested it.

Any sifus here heard about Knowledge Zenith? The peeps at headfi said that they are well worth it for it's price range ($10 usd). It even beat xiaomi pistons.
The recent new KZ ATE is said that it can even go up against ATH-IM50

Hi guys, I was using Steelseries Siberia V1 until one side suddenly died. Naturally, I'm thinking of buying a V2 but I noticed it has leather pads. So I need some recommendations on new headphone smile.gif

Budget is RM250+-

Rig:
Just normal PC without special soundcards

Usage:
Music mainly, sometimes gaming

File format:
mainly 320kbps mp3

Genre:
Electronic (trance, house etc etc)

Headphone type:
Closed because I don't like whole world hearing what I listen to tongue.gif

Other requirements:
-Don't want leather pads, too warm for me
-Mic for skype / casual gaming

I saw online Beyerdynamic DT231 Pro, but no idea if it's good or not. It doesn't have a mic and reviews say not comfortable for big ears (I have big head and ears)
Hope sifu sifu can help me out with this! notworthy.gif

Stay away from any Beyer IEM products. Lousy build quality, seen many having theirs spoilt several times a year or 2.
