Would need advise on what earphone that fits best to these type of songs. Clear SQ and with some bass.
So far I have tested UrBeats and it's quite good. Harman Kardon AE with extended bass is not bad as well. Prefer In Ear as above Any other suggestions on earphones to choose?? Budget about 400-500
Hi,need to know if there are any headphones rm300-400 out there that are better than my sennheiser hd 439s.I am looking for a small upgrade around this price.Prefer over ear or on ear.Main usage is music and gaming.
If you don't mind saving up abit more, can get the AD700x (if you wanted to stay using open back headphones)

Need help before purchasing. I currently own a PC and moving towards HTPC build. Currently no DAC purchased but I do have a built in sound card, Asus Xonar Essence STX which comes with built-in amp with 10.7ohm output impedance, which should suffice for the DT990 which gives a well good damping factor.
But for the SoundMagic, I definitely need an amp. Hence, where I need help. Is it worth getting both HP200 and a compatible amp over just the DT990? Or should I just stick with the DT990?
I have a broad taste in music like Rock, Chillstep, some dubstep, ambience, and pop culture.
If you have the budget, why not sell your Essence STX, then get a DAC/AMP combo and the HP200.
Another thing is, actually I find that HP200 is more suitable for a wider range of song genre compared to DT990. I tried to like the DT990 but the crazy peakiness of the treble really kills the song, and the bass is just too lean. You can consider getting a warmer AMP like Cayin C5 to pair with the HP200, pure satisfaction. My 0.02¢.

Urbeats? no. Harman Kardon AE? no. Heck, even something mediocre (what i think) like SE215 is better than them.
400-500 is actually around the bracket between lower and middle end models, regardless here's some suggestions beating around the price tag. Audio Technica IM70, CKR7. JVC HA-FXT90. Brainwavz R3 new vers. Dunu DN-1000

Appreciate the suggestion! I got the sound card like wayyyy back when it was supposedly be the best soundcard for headphones. And at that time I wasn't into the details like any other audiophiles. Haha. I was not exposed. Some users from head-fi forum suggested the HP200 with Fiio E10K, too. Never thought of the day I'd sell my card till you mentioned it. Haha.
EDIT: I just remembered why I never thought of it. My brother uses the card for ASIO. Haha.

Hope you guys can recommend me a good earphone for gym as well as misc use. My previous earphone is Sennheiser CX 680 and I quite like it, except after 2 years of use the rubber starts to break out exposing the wires inside and eventually it stopped working.
Would you please recommend me another earphone that is around RM150ish.
Rig: Sansa Clip+ or phone Usage: Music File format: mp3 Genre: Rock, pop, classical Headphone/ earphone type:Strictly no in-ear Price: Less than RM300
I have few of these and I think it sounds decent(compared to stock Apple/Samsung etc). I believe this model already discontinued. So I'm looking for something similar.
I took another chance to try the DT990 again and I definitely love them. BUT despite being light and the most comfortable pair of cans I've tried, it comes down to portability and convenience. I go to work every day and only get to listen to the pair at home. Obviously I would not be able to bring those to work and blast away, lol.
After testings and weeks of research. I think I'd settle on a closed back cans for now. I love both open and closed for having their own characteristics and profile for reproducing and creating their own environment and to immerse their listeners. However, I find that closed back suit my daily routine for now. Maybe when I have a budget, I might just get the 990 for home-studio use. For now, I'm sticking to what I can do with them daily.
Was looking at the M40x and the M50x and would definitely consider them. The detachable cables are a plus in my case. However, I only got to try the M50x and the M70x. Been reading about the M40x being compared to the M50x and how the M40x can sound neutral but boring to some. And most reviews say that if you're not to critical about the difference between them, might as well get the M40x and a good amp. Some also say that the M50x has a 2-3dB higher bass or some sort and lower highs. Gonna have to try them myself and I'm gonna need recommendations on what amps is suitable for either. I'm always on a desktop and that's my source. Considering a Schiit Fulla but what do you guys think?
P/S: I also tried SonicSense's website just to get me started and narrow down my options when I did my research: http://www.sonicsense.com/resourcecenter/a...o?load=featured. They try to help you listen and mimic the headphone sounds as accurate as possible just to give you the idea on how the signature is like, I guess, nothing more you can do but to try out. But, best to get you started!
Cheers.

Dt990 signature is v shape right? Try giving the vmoda m100 a try. Although noise isolation on the m100 is considered below average for a closed back

Yes, it definitely is V shaped. I didn't quite like how the M100 and HP200 are built in terms of the cups. I have huge ears and my ears touched the cups inside.

portable headphones doesnt have much room to accomodate huge ear size i used the mad dog pro by mrspeakers in public, but i dont recommend it due to its size and drivability. But comfort wise 10/10

Your rig: PC/Laptop, seldom with E10K DAC/Amp What type of usage: Music (At work in the office) File format used in your source: Mp3, and mostly FLAC ripped from vinyls Genre of music you listen to: Wide genre. Rock, Metal, Pop, EDM, Ambient, Chillstep, Classic Rock. Headphone/ earphone type: IEM Budget: Around RM150
Not a basshead. Not looking for too sparkly treble, too. More neutral but punchiness in bass still present. Doesn't matter if it's warm but preferred.

You tried the HP200 and your ears touch the driver? The pads are pretty trick.. M50X is a good buy, rarely I've came across people regret with the purchase consider its easiness to drive as well.
VSD3 is pretty good for your preference. Another neutral monster I prefer, Havi B3 Pro 1

Thank you! And yes, I have big ears. And a big head, so it's a bit clamy for me, I guess. Yeap, waiting for the shipment now! As for the IEMs, I'm trying out the Ostry KC06A (Slightly bump up budget). I like how it looks as well.
Not really into audiophile grade because i prefer headphone for that which i already have one.
I don't want to simply buy any RM50-ish earphone in the market without doing some research.
My budget <RM100 ish. Need a good one that is quite durable, can simply throw in the bag if can. (lol) Soundwise - just so so, good enough clarity with some bass. I usually listens to mainstream music and EDMs.
I own ATH M50 and i love it, (may help for preferences?)
