no speed limit. well,it is known that iriz 5th gear is tall, even taller than prev iafm+ n campro 1.3,to help reduce rpm during cruising for better fc,but since its 1.3,n its heavy by the way,plus 4 adults onboard, so u need to downshift to 4th gear to regain momentum, even downshift to 3rd if really needed for fast overtaking, unless it is 1.6 mt.

notwithstanding that the engine still tight. being a cast iron engine,it takes time to mature,in fc n speed. notmally,after 10k onwards,it will be fully optimised.

the new ecu n tcu reflash shud make the car creep faster in D,means the clutch open faster but the clutch effect still there cuz its a clutch based cvt afterall. n it will hold on the low ratio a bit longer than prev setting.

to gauge whether iriz 1.6cvt is superslow spokes or not,u need someone to drive side by side with other car to gauge it rather using feeling. take for example myvi 1.5 at,drive along side with iriz 1.6cvt. from stop n go,both rev at 2k rpm max every gear and try to measure how long actually myvi manage to leave iriz behind. if 2 or 3 cars length iriz is behind myvi,then iriz is really slow spoke aka siput sedut then :-). maybe some shud try,just for fun though.

mr ruffstuff,i think its quite weird situation happened during ur reversing on flat road. if during steep road,its understandable.

afaik,during reverse,it used planetary gear to give fix ratio(meaning not using cvt pulley at all). so,reversing on flat road,u shud let it creep 1st n rev a bit only,no need to rev high as forward gear. but its a bit tricky if slope though.

but i think u shud send it for checkup, n check whether u r already at latest ecu n tcu update or not during 1k service. i know ur chasis isnt involve according to internal circulation,but no harm checking though

come on, u using a bmw car to compare with proton?

let me ask u back, can a proton car drag such long period to do a servicing?

d other way round, if a bmw goto sc every 1k 5k 10k 20k servicing, how much do u think da car owner need to pay then?

sometimes if u need to compare, comapre it with the same grade or same level car.

I did ask for Syntium 800 10w30 yesterday but the Puchong SC said Iriz should use Syntium 800 10w40. Need to top up RM38.65 on top of the voucher.

Went SC this morning. I asked to update ECU. I was then notified that the parking brake and fuel pump need to be changed.

Took them from 8 to 4pm

Isn't the Hill hold assist engaged automatically when at certain degree of slope? The car should never roll back  The feature never disappoints me on my 1.3 manual.

Mine serial is 26xx. Just received call from SC that they need to update ECU & TCU yesterday. Today "SERVICE REQUIRED" message pop out. Just reached 400km + 1 week, wonder why ? Proton can send remote message ?
