At first I laughed at Ifags scrambling to buy the latest IPhone but later I joined in the bandwagon. tongue.gif  The experience is called the IPhone Buying experience where it is only encountered if you queued yourself in the line at any Apple stores with all the other IFags and managed to get the model you want. Unable to get one also is part of the experience where you have to hang out here in getting the latest news to which Apple Store has the IPhone in stock. I do not agree to buying from scalpers at crazily expensive prices while getting an overseas unit which you would have problem in claiming later. Where is the fun in getting an IPhone like that. But that is me, different people may have different views on this. So far I have been lucky in getting my IPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S from Telcos, Apple Online Stores and Apple Resellers without much difficulties. I still remember an experience where a lot of people were looking at the Signboard in front of an Apple Reseller (couldn't remember its name) in Gardens stating no stock for all IPhone 5s and I got nearer and whipped out my 32GB 5S Gold and took a picture of the signboard. All I could say was the feeling was like a MasterCard moment, Priceless. laugh.gif

Wow... that's really a good IPhone buying experience. thumbup.gif

I still remember here last year, at Celcom's IPhone 5s Launch in Sunway, the first in line walked away with a Free IPhone 5s while the rest who queued up got a discount or something.

I bought my 5s in the US last year, in the apple store. I just walked in asking for a T-Mobile and asked to pay in full-price. Those are the keywords - T-Mobile, full price, device only. Some of them will try to convince you otherwise, but it really is UNLOCKED. First hand experience here. There's a looooong discussion about this in macforums, you might want to check it out.

Went home, plugged in my iPhone and voila, there's a popup in iTunes saying it is unlocked.

Edit: Just to add, I'm still using this phone bought from the US, so safe to say it works in Malaysia, correct band. Got LTE coverage as well.
*
Yeah. Already placed my order through my fren in US .. online store t-mobile contract free set at full price.. so now. Waiting to try luck.. thanks for your info bro.. much appreciated . Will update you guys once they got the set on the 19..

iPhone is slightly more expensive in Singapore than some other places in the world. Due to GST and exchange rates

Apple devices have international warranty.

QUOTE(Hawaiiii @ Sep 13 2014, 09:25 AM)
Easy for warranty no matter local or sg or uk set, provided ur iphone is bought from Apple online store, then u are entitle to claim international warranty, just visit any local APPLE AUTHORISED SERVICE PROVIDER (AASP) like Machines, Mac City or directly go to Apple times square level 10 service centre (this one i never try) etc will do, they will give u 1 to 1 exchange (but have to wait 3-5 working days lar), if u are at SG Apple warehouse, u can direct claim on the spot.

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.
Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

It says may restrict, so it's up to you. lol

If batang sure reject lot, unless Chun chick with 'let half ball' then different case. tongue.gif
Jokes aside, there is no international warranty for the iphone no matter from which country you buy from. I also check with a senior management from a local authorized apple reseller and they confirm the same. To believe it or not its up to you.

Has anyone bought from online applestore Singapore and get their iphone order status as 'Preparing for Shipment' or 'Shipped'? As mine when the time i purchased it stated delivery time 3-4weeks and when i check my order status it still stated 'proceesing items'. Wonder if my creditcard transaction is succesful or rejected.

Leng chai or not.. The policy already said no... Unless the cs officer is a rebellious type, then u might get one replaced.. But I think that will be e last time u see him.. Hana..

I checked with the local apple service centre, they told me, for overseas set, u can only claim it if u can prove that u a foreigner currently holiday in Malaysia or assigned to work in Malaysia. Otherwise, high chance it will get rejected.
Those who bought from local reseller now, better make sure they agreed to bring it back to the respective apple cs for claim instead of those 3rd party shop for repairs which void the original warranty and worse replaced with 3rd party non certified parts.

Just an advise.. Up to u to accept or not.

No idea of the second wave for the Apple Singapore online store.

Apple’s second wave of iPhone 6 sales starts Sept. 26 for long list of countries

at the end of the day it's up to you. yes you may have managed to claim but there are others who didn't manage to. but on black and white, they have the rights not to honor the warranty. so entirely to the users whether to take the risk or not.
