Just wait for the initial rush and craze to die down first then only get your phone. By then stocks will be plentiful and less hassle.

We won't know if there's problem with first batch phones. Enjoy your current iPhone with ios 8 first.

I had to agree for that. This initial exitement feeling is false feeling and don't let the evil inside you clouds you. Let the dust settle and then proceeds. No use to have problem phone despite all excitement.

Can. But buying from Canada is even more expensive than Singapore. Ask your friend to go down to US and buy–he shouldn't be taxed since he's a foreigner. Or just ask him to buy from a US state without sales tax. (ie. Oregon on west coast, New Hampshire on east coast)
*
Eh. From the CA apple store it's 679USD, so equivalent to 2.1k MYR. Sure cheaper than SG set
Or am I missing something?

Sprint versions of the iPhone 6/6 Plus (A1586/A1524), you get all sixteen LTE bands of the A1549/A1522 versions, plus the added benefit of four extra TD-LTE bands 38 (TD 2600), 39 (TD 1900), 40 (TD 2300), 41 (TD 2500), for a truly global LTE phone for the first time in 4G history.

So those who buying from US, go get the unlocked models with the num A1586/A1524

So now I also duno whether should I grab the iPhone 6 from US... So scared it's locked then no point spending so much.. hiaz.. any expert can really answer whether the t-mobile contract free iPhone is locked or unlocked? Really really need this help very much........
*
I bought my 5s in the US last year, in the apple store. I just walked in asking for a T-Mobile and asked to pay in full-price. Those are the keywords - T-Mobile, full price, device only. Some of them will try to convince you otherwise, but it really is UNLOCKED. First hand experience here. There's a looooong discussion about this in macforums, you might want to check it out.

Went home, plugged in my iPhone and voila, there's a popup in iTunes saying it is unlocked.

Edit: Just to add, I'm still using this phone bought from the US, so safe to say it works in Malaysia, correct band. Got LTE coverage as well.

As far as I know, all Sprint models are locked–even when bought device-only at full price. At best, it's only unlocked for international GSM. You'd still be stuck on Sprint in the US.

Thanks for your input. Some people are really hard to convince it's unlocked.

I think it works if you also choose AT&T too but I might be wrong. Don't quote me on this. The general consensus and the safest bet is "T-mobile, device only, fullprice".

The Apple saleslady I was talking to was giving me the eye, with a smirk and let out "You did your research". I mean who am I kidding, they know I'm not a US Citizen and they perfectly know I'm bringing it overseas lol. So yeah, it's a rather backhanded approach to buying an unlocked iPhone in the Apple Stores in the US. They are completely aware about it but they will advertise as otherwise and will keep on saying it's locked.

Let's move on people.

At first I laughed at Ifags scrambling to buy the latest IPhone but later I joined in the bandwagon. tongue.gif The experience is called the IPhone Buying experience where it is only encountered if you queued yourself in the line at any Apple stores with all the other IFags and managed to get the model you want. Unable to get one also is part of the experience where you have to hang out here in getting the latest news to which Apple Store has the IPhone in stock. I do not agree to buying from scalpers at crazily expensive prices while getting an overseas unit which you would have problem in claiming later. Where is the fun in getting an IPhone like that. But that is me, different people may have different views on this. So far I have been lucky in getting my IPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S from Telcos, Apple Online Stores and Apple Resellers without much difficulties. I still remember an experience where a lot of people were looking at the Signboard in front of an Apple Reseller (couldn't remember its name) in Gardens stating no stock for all IPhone 5s and I got nearer and whipped out my 32GB 5S Gold and took a picture of the signboard. All I could say was the feeling was like a MasterCard moment, Priceless. laugh.gif

You mean they cancelled only one of your two IPhones ordered? U will still be getting One unit right? This is good in preventing scalpers from hoarding extra IPhones and reselling it at crazy markup price. rclxms.gif

I ordered 4 units, they cancelled two. Now don't say become scalper, not even enough to fulfil my own friend demand
