QUOTE(KaiHD @ Sep 13 2014, 01:46 AM) once the sim is preinstalled, u will need to contact T mobile to unlock it. they will need to check if you are qualified for the unlocking of carrier or not. since last year, all phones in US comes with unlocked version, but too bad carrier send the phone with sim card pre installed to make sure the phone is tied to the carrier. safest is buy local set.. at least got local warranty.. iPhone not cheap to fix oh.. u go local phone shop, 90% are using 3rd party parts which is unknown quality. And there are incidents where 1st batches have higher chance of minor glitches too.. this is my personal opinion la.. as much as i wanted to have the first taste, i would still keep on hold for the local release.. (source: real life experience of my friend, this MacRumors post or this MacRumors thread.)since last year, all phones in US comes with unlocked version, but too bad carrier send the phone with sim card pre installed to make sure the phone is tied to the carrier. How do we claim warranty if we purchase it from Apple Store Online Malaysia?
Would it be easier for us to claim warranty if we buy from local resellers? |

QUOTE(Shinichix @ Sep 13 2014, 06:14 AM) That's the problem Easy for warranty no matter local or sg or uk set, provided ur iphone is bought from Apple online store, then u are entitle to claim international warranty, just visit any local APPLE AUTHORISED SERVICE PROVIDER (AASP) like Machines, Mac City or directly go to Apple times square level 10 service centre (this one i never try) etc will do, they will give u 1 to 1 exchange (but have to wait 3-5 working days lar), if u are at SG Apple warehouse, u can direct claim on the spot.I plan to buy iPhone 6 from Apple Store Online Malaysia..but worry that it's hard to claim warranty. QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Sep 13 2014, 04:52 AM) Dont worry. Market place has tons of "Scalpers" now. Seems like many buyers buy it to "scalp" but then again with so many people selling, I dont think scalpers could fetch a good price for their units. QUOTE(Shinichix @ Sep 13 2014, 06:14 AM) That's the problem You can opt to send to any resellers and they will help you send for warranty claims with apple. Or you can arrange with Apple to collect your iphone through courier companies and get them to collect your Iphone for RMA.I plan to buy iPhone 6 from Apple Store Online Malaysia..but worry that it's hard to claim warranty. No, Iphones have no international warranties. Every Iphone sent for RMA must be sent to their original country of purchase.QUOTE(sasuke8678 @ Sep 13 2014, 11:07 AM) Definately. If not why would they lock it? It is because the device price is subsidized by them and hence locked so that only their telco/carrier can be used. This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: Sep 13 2014, 11:59 AM |
