QUOTE(Connect2USales @ Sep 13 2014, 01:54 AM) once the sim is preinstalled, u will need to contact T mobile to unlock it. they will need to check if you are qualified for the unlocking of carrier or not. still no. any iPhone bought directly from Apple US at full price is unlocked (except for sprint model). you can immediately switch out the preloaded SIM with your desired one, then turn on & activate your iPhone with no issues. (source: real life experience of my friend, this MacRumors post or this MacRumors thread.)since last year, all phones in US comes with unlocked version, but too bad carrier send the phone with sim card pre installed to make sure the phone is tied to the carrier. QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Sep 13 2014, 04:16 AM) Any iPhone bought full price directly from Apple (not from carrier store) will be unlocked. See above post for proof. QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Sep 13 2014, 04:53 AM) QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Sep 13 2014, 05:51 AM) iPhones technically do have international warranty, but only with AppleCare+ Plans.QUOTE(Shinichix @ Sep 13 2014, 04:30 AM) How do we claim warranty if we purchase it from Apple Store Online Malaysia? Actually the best way to get an iPhone in Malaysia will always be from the Apple Online Store. They have best support, including one to one exchange within first 30 days.Would it be easier for us to claim warranty if we buy from local resellers? QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Sep 13 2014, 09:01 AM) i chat with the other specialist... they said need to bring to t-mobile for unlock... but basically my t-mobile sim can already work on the phone properly, but NOT other SIM cards. QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 13 2014, 12:34 PM) QUOTE(derrickmoo @ Sep 13 2014, 01:08 PM) But then, i read from forums.. how come they said IF purchase from apple online store or apple store.. even if its by t-monile contract free is consider unlocked set? Please stop spreading misinformation. I already clarified in my previous post. Can clarify? I'll say again for the last time—Any iPhones bought at full price (aka "device-only") directly from Apple (aka not from AT&T/Verizon/T-Mobile/Best Buy/etc. stores) will be unlocked. This is was the case with the 5 and 5S, and should hold true for this year too. Apple may not advertise it as unlocked, but according to MANY people that bought them it IS unlocked. My previous post has examples where people just took out the preloaded AT&T/Verizon/T-Mobile SIMs out of the iPhone they bought and inserted a new one. (Some of these are even international SIMs, and not domestic US ones.) This post has been edited by KaiHD: Sep 13 2014, 01:19 PM |

QUOTE(jimcarrey @ Sep 13 2014, 01:22 PM) False. The 6/6+ is FULLY compatible with Malaysian LTE bands. This time there are only two models—US one and international one. Literally no difference between the two except that the international one got additional bands for China LTE. (Source)This post has been edited by KaiHD: Sep 13 2014, 01:30 PM |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Sep 13 2014, 01:39 PM) There is a theory that Apple doesn't put the correct wording at launch to prevent scalpers. Doesn't really help though. If you're really that worried (which I think you shouldn't be), go buy a Verizon iPhone. Verizon is required by US law to sell all their LTE phones as factory unlocked, due to a requirement when they bought a bunch of spectrum for their network a few years ago.Personally I don't want to discuss this issue anymore. I've provided more than enough evidence on my stand, and everything should work just like last year. If not, just call T-Mobile and request an unlock NBD. |

QUOTE(Wildcat @ Sep 13 2014, 02:53 PM) Oh, got some friends staying in Canada. So can purchase from the Apple Store CA and the phone can be use (LTE) back here? Can. But buying from Canada is even more expensive than Singapore. Ask your friend to go down to US and buy–he shouldn't be taxed since he's a foreigner. Or just ask him to buy from a US state without sales tax. (ie. Oregon on west coast, New Hampshire on east coast) |

QUOTE(Wildcat @ Sep 13 2014, 04:06 PM) Eh. From the CA apple store it's 679USD, so equivalent to 2.1k MYR. Sure cheaper than SG set I stand corrected. But US iPhone still cheaper. Save RM 100 haha. Or am I missing something? QUOTE(simmarjit @ Sep 13 2014, 04:54 PM) Sprint versions of the iPhone 6/6 Plus (A1586/A1524), you get all sixteen LTE bands of the A1549/A1522 versions, plus the added benefit of four extra TD-LTE bands 38 (TD 2600), 39 (TD 1900), 40 (TD 2300), 41 (TD 2500), for a truly global LTE phone for the first time in 4G history. As far as I know, all Sprint models are locked–even when bought device-only at full price. At best, it's only unlocked for international GSM. You'd still be stuck on Sprint in the US. So those who buying from US, go get the unlocked models with the num A1586/A1524 QUOTE(MollyIsler @ Sep 13 2014, 05:30 PM) Thanks for your input. Some people are really hard to convince it's unlocked. |

QUOTE(kc6012 @ Sep 15 2014, 11:04 PM) mine went into 'preparing for shipment' 2 days ago, when I checked around 6:20PM. (US store though)QUOTE(Axel95 @ Sep 16 2014, 12:15 AM) if you guys plan to get it, what's your plan for your older iPhone? I still love my 4s but its gonna be kinda redundant to have 2 iPhones. My dad wants it to replace his 3Gs(ikr) and i said maybe already ordered. gonna sell mine, maybe give it to a family member if my dad wants me to. (he'll have to pay me back of course hahaha) |

QUOTE(gahkin @ Sep 16 2014, 12:32 AM) store.apple.com/us. waited from 12 AM pst (3 PM here) until store went live around 2:20 AM pst (5:20 PM here). 3-5 clicks later i place my order.QUOTE(Axel95 @ Sep 16 2014, 12:33 AM) LoL my dad bought me the 4s so i don't think i can ask him to buy it from me. I'm thinking of selling it off and either get iPad Air 2 or upgrade my MBP but idk.. i love the glass back, it feels so premium solution: have your dad replace his 3GS with 6/6+. You take the new iPhone, give your dad the 4S. I don't mind much about the glass back. My brother had cracked his black iPhone 4 back, and didn't get it fixed for a while. I would've hated it but then he replaced it with a white one. now it looks beautiful. QUOTE(Xirality @ Sep 16 2014, 01:15 AM) some of those will be going from china to US then turn around to Malaysia hahaha |

QUOTE(winkiedilwy @ Sep 16 2014, 06:40 AM) what's the name and brand of the SP? spigen?QUOTE(kc6012 @ Sep 16 2014, 03:46 PM) i'm shipping my iPhone this friday, saturday at the latest from the US. if you want join, PM me.QUOTE(MollyIsler @ Sep 16 2014, 04:18 PM) FYI though, for iPhones from Japan/Korea. The camera shutter sound cannot be turned off. It's a government thing I think to prevent perverts from shooting everything lol. If you can live with the camera shutter sound, then Japan's the cheapest bet you got. QUOTE(sugen @ Sep 16 2014, 05:03 PM) that's all in the software, If I'm not mistaken. just don't select Japan as your region when you set it up. |

QUOTE(MollyIsler @ Sep 16 2014, 06:34 PM) It's actually hardcoded in the phone's firmware, so I'm guessing there really is no fix to it either than jailbreaking. how do you know? can you give source? because the model sold in japan should have the same hardware and therefore firmware. i would think it's like the European Union volume limit–just don't select a European country as your region and no more volume limit.P.S. Those who want to join shipping must PM me, I'll not entertain otherwise. |
