judging from the size of 3300mAh battery in razr maxx, I wonder why moto never wanted to put it inside the moto x. why moto, why???
Bcs it'll be costly. Guess how much the old Droid Maxx costs now? $499 for 16gb. Motorola wants to price all their new stuffs competitively, and they did by pricing them lower than their competitors, but the materials that they're using on all devices are not cheap. Hence it explains as to why Motorola maintains the same chipset and battery on Moto G (2nd Gen.) and uses an old chipset on Moto 360
moto should fire the guy who codes the image processing of the camera. moto phones has never been very exceptional with imaging (maybe exclude the zn5 and xt720). even with the same camera module as the lg g2, it still fall short when compared to others who use the same hardware.
the new moto x could have been the perfect droid if
1. preloaded with 3000mAh battery 2. better quality imaging

Camera software/API is difficult to tackle I presumed because look at all Android manufacturers with advance technology etc, but Apple still remain top because their camera API/software are seriously best. Others should steal Apple's camera API software engineer

it does not consume any battery lol. heck not even a bit. its just like you take your phone out of your pocket to turn on ActiveDisplay but this time, you just hover/wave your palm/hand on top on your MotoX screen....

Apple's photo only looks good on that small screen, if you blow it on a big screen (e.g. a full HD monitor) u would notice it's not as good. The only manufacturer that beats apple with photo images is Sony with the Z2 / Z2C, seriously, if you show people pictures taken with the Z2 and iphone 5s on a FHD monitor, they always thinks the better pictures are from the 5s but 80% of the time they are wrong
Rough idea when this will be available? Or when SyathibiyMegat will be bringing this in (AP)?
No idea, but I'll open up a thread as soon as it becomes available. It won't be ready stock though, bcs buyer would have to customize according to their likings first before placing an order. I'm assuming the preorder is meant for standard black & white

Then if you could wait, I really suggest you just wait. From past history, we're quite convinced Brightstar will be bringing them in later. Plus, the preorder is actly for AT&T. You don't wanna get that one
