My dogs eat 2 meals a day. Morning and evening. So before I leave for the run, I will feed them, if not they will sure make noise cause they can sense me. Dogs hearing are just so sharp. Morning meals are heavy while the evening meals are lighter. But even with this 2 meals, both of them still so noisy. Keep asking for more food. I going pokai soon.

PowerBar needs to be taken with water to help the absorption of nutrients. As for the quads, try loosen it by strecthing a bit. I know you go to they gym for strength training. But did you know that when over do it, your muscles get very stiff and tight. That's why I attend Yoga and Pilates session to loosen my muscles. And I probably think that it's most probably in your mind saying that you are tired which you are not. That's the difference between running alone and with a crowd.

If my boy, I don't mind. He very obedient (for my standard). As for girl, if I leash her, she will drag me and run around. Then when stop, can see her mouth all the saliva coming out. It's quite painful. Maybe if free, will go without my dogs to check out first. No promises though. But definitely not this weekend cause this weekend I got 16 hours relay.

among the 5 flavor, my favourite is also tangerine. as for the caffeine part, people says that it will cause dehydration, not sure though. but i will attempt to consume power gel with livita in my next run to double up the caffeine and see how it goes.
*
I always opt for vanilla as it is caffeine free. Although recent research shows that caffeine does not causes dehydration, I think I just stick with the old rules. No harm trying to be safe. Deadalus, livita and red bull, please consume them in moderate amount. I believe it does more harm than good. For your "experiment" take it easy ok.

Rashid! So sorry... I didn't hear your sms till 11.30pm last night. Before you go register for te Penang Marathon, would like to know on your plans first like accomodation, transport and timing. If everything is fine with me, then I will join you. Maybe will call you during lunch time to confirm.

Washabushi... If me and Rashid going, I think you can follow us too cause the costs won't be that high already for accomodation as the 3 of us can share a room.

Added on May 29, 2007, 8:33 amBy the way guys. What do you all think if this thread is move to the Health and Fitness forums? I noticed lots of runners missed out on this thread as it is in Sports Channel. Suggestions?

We are leaving on Friday (22 June 2007) night by bus and will be coming back on Sunday (24 June 2007) noon by bus. Just get a cheapo watch with a stopwatch. That will do as you need it to just clock your time.

QUOTE(ironrashid_2k2 @ May 30 2007, 06:18 AM)

Is this your first time participating in a running event? If no, what's your time for 10KM, 15KM, etc... You mentioned you need guidance in the Penang marathon thread. What guidance you need? Just go ahead and ask. Each of us will try to help out.

i never reach 10km b4 on regular basis , the most i did was about only 5km every 3 days per week about 30+min, only did 14km b4 for my company run....and that was like 2 years ago, crappy performance not worth mentioning the time.....lil girl also can go faster than me.

just need to know how to prepare for the long endurance. ohh yeah i should be getting new running shoes any recommendation for <250 budget?. my old cheap bata shoes seriously felt very heavy and painful for long runs.
*
Good luck mate. It's going to take more than stamina to finish this half marathon for you. You will is very important.

HUH? You are going to get a new pair of shoes for the Penang Marathon? Less than a month more to go. Do you think your foot can adapt to the new shoes? Runners always wear shoes that are at least 2 months old so that their foot can adapt to it. If not, the foot will be painful and blister will occur. If you are asking me to recommend, I will go for New Balance 767. Retail price is RM289 but if you are a Pacesetter member, you will get 30% discount. This is the cost-reasonable shoe I found.

Anyway, please continue this thread to here. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=464883 A new marathon thread has been created under Health & Fitness.
