Staff Investing

At Affin Hwang Asset Management, we firmly subscribe to the belief of practising ourselves what we preach to our clients and investors. It is not about “OPM” (Other Peoples’ Money) but our own too. This is evident from the AUM that our staff invest in our own funds. Chart 1 below shows our total assets under management (AUM) for our own staff investments totalling to RM27.5 million as at 31 August 2014. Cash and EPF (Employee Provident Fund) investments formed the bulk with RM13 million (47.3%) and RM11 million (40%) respectively, while the remainder comprised PRS (Private Retirement Scheme) at RM3.5 million (12.7%). As PRS just started in end 2012, we expect the amount contributed into PRS to grow further.

that was a pleasant surprise! I just bought 6k of Affin Hwang PRS Growth Fund on 14.10.14, without knowing there is this promotion.

I was thinking instead of waiting till year end to buy for tax deduction, might as well buy now since it has dropped some 2sen .
then i saw the fee RM8.00 will be charged per transaction, i just doubled up my usual RM3k.

PRS should get more attention, very steady, other portfolio making huge losses, PRS still profit 3.15%.
