QUOTE(don391 @ Aug 28 2014, 07:42 AM) Expensive + hard to buy here. Most people will settle for Filco for simplicity or Ducky Shine 3. The IKBC F104 is also a good choice, packed with doubleshot pbt keys + another free set at RM300 around. But the problem is have to buy from taobao, add the shipping and so is around RM 350 iinm. |

QUOTE(don391 @ Aug 28 2014, 11:18 AM) Cos i think it looks quite cool and high quality. Cos' i'm in Aussie and its quite highly rated here. Coz theres pretty much a lot of other mkb models that are way better than das. So was wondering why not much talk about it over in Malaysia. We know so thats why lyn mkb forumers are highly regarded as best in SEA. So why dont u take ur time looking at reviews of other brands like filco, leopold, poker , kbp , ducky, cm novatouch tkl, hhkb and see what i mean by these brands being better than das. |

QUOTE(don391 @ Aug 28 2014, 11:18 AM) Cos i think it looks quite cool and high quality. Cos' i'm in Aussie and its quite highly rated here. Let's just analyse it in logic way.So was wondering why not much talk about it over in Malaysia. DAS 4 pro: - high quality - standard layout (easier for aftermarket keycaps replacement) - cool for you cons: - expensive shipping to M'sia (Price Factor) - ugly oversize volume knob (REDUNDANT things ever on keyboard), we want to get keyboard not volume controller. - Full-size layout (non-ergonomics, DAS do not offer TKL/60% layout series for typists) Conclusion, the oversize knob and price (including shipping) and FULL-SIZE layout really big turn offs. Whereby, I can get a Filco TKL (Japanese brand) with top 1 quality in manufactured keyboard with reasonable price (~RM369). Those high rated things <-- please don't believe, ppl also high rate Razer here thanks to those reviews. In this forum, you will start listen to a lot of brands you don't even know they exist in the first place. Like Realforce, PFU, Filco, Keycool, Plum, CM, etc. Most of the laymen only knows Razer, SteelSeries, DAS, Corsair etc when they know mechanical keyboards. |

Especially the part on how most laymen only know razer, ss, Das, corsair. haha. What about those with exotic switches. Thinking of KBP v60. they have clear, white, green, and other exotic. edit: but actually, i didn't know Das consider what most Laymen know. QUOTE(don391 @ Aug 28 2014, 12:21 PM) True, what you said. When I was a layman, I know DAS, because I saw some video on youtube.Especially the part on how most laymen only know razer, ss, Das, corsair. haha. What about those with exotic switches. Thinking of KBP v60. they have clear, white, green, and other exotic. edit: but actually, i didn't know Das consider what most Laymen know. It's extremely rare in M'sia, but not rare in internet. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Most ppl don't even know those uncommon switches like clear, grey, white, green, existed. They only know red, black, brown, blue. I think if you like heavy switch, then you can go for clear (tactile), green (clicky+tactile).. Btw, why you want to get a mechanical keyboard? But originally, your first choice asking about DAS, I guess you are a professional or under/post grad. |

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Aug 28 2014, 12:13 PM) Let's just analyse it in logic way. adding in my 2 cents.. DAS 4 pro: - high quality - standard layout (easier for aftermarket keycaps replacement) - cool for you - aluminium matte plate on the top instead of glossy finish like older models - 2 USB 3.0 ports on the keyboard cons: - expensive shipping to M'sia (Price Factor) - ugly oversize volume knob (REDUNDANT things ever on keyboard), we want to get keyboard not volume controller. - Full-size layout (non-ergonomics, DAS do not offer TKL/60% layout series for typists) - only available in MX Blue & Brown - awkward ruler for angle tipping instead of rubber feet (attached to the base by magnets) Hit or Miss? - uses costar stabilizer on all except spacebar » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Conclusion, the oversize knob and price (including shipping) and FULL-SIZE layout really big turn offs. Whereby, I can get a Filco TKL (Japanese brand) with top 1 quality in manufactured keyboard with reasonable price (~RM369). Personally the only thing that sets me back is the full-sized layout only. Plus high shipping cost to Malaysia. |

QUOTE(KUROsaki23 @ Aug 28 2014, 01:56 PM) Raindrop R2 still available from me Convincing me to sell is a different story though QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Aug 28 2014, 02:37 PM) Nothing much to describe now, not enough data. Ok. But first impressions? Wait I type min 300Hours then I will do a full review on NovaTouch (Hybrid Capacitive Switches). QUOTE(don391 @ Aug 28 2014, 02:42 PM) Jailhouse blues actually quite simple to make; just insert o-ring or plastic tabs between the stem and the clicker and you're done. Takes a freaking long time to complete though. Pandas are usually black springs inserted into various tactile/sclicky switches. Kinda like ghetto greens if you use it on blues. Personally I prefer Jailhouse blues than Ergo clears, but it's a small enough difference that most users won't really feel it. QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Aug 28 2014, 02:46 PM) Jailhouse blue = MX Blue variants Yup, it's always personal preference. I'm just trying too hard to emulate certain aspects of Topre that I really like into MX switches because I need that for my custom layouts ergo Clear, panda Clear = MX Clear variants Custom mod stocked switches. Some like stocked MX Clear (Kai sensei) more than ergo Clear. Some like ergo Clear than stocked. So, really depends on pref of each people.
