Only among a certain circle of people they can get. Others hardly can get a chance. So is it fair?

QUOTE(zennasyndroxx @ Sep 4 2014, 03:51 PM) Why so butthurt? It's their rights to sell to whomever they want. In the end, they take copyrighted materials and sell, and then someone else pirate their copyrighted material and sell. I see only drama and popcorn. Is it right to pirate from pirates? Or perhaps there is such thing as honor among thieves? Personally, I dislike the concept of clacks and brobots and whatnot because paying USD 25 for a novelty item is such a luxurious and pointless idea. |

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Sep 4 2014, 03:59 PM) Why so butthurt? Yeah, because of them having the rights to sell whoever they want only cause k3kc to happen, don't you think so? If everyone have equal chances to get them then I believe it's fine. The availability is also a factor too, not to mention the aftermarket price is being a total beeyotchIt's their rights to sell to whomever they want. I would say that these are clones instead of fakes or pirated stuff. Why we call pirated DVDs pirated? Because they copy pasta the same exact shit. Clones, or replicas would be the better word here. What can CF do is to be more transparent about his design whether is it copyrighted or not. If it's copyrighted design, I assume it comes in a package where it includes the cf or fxe logo below. Since K3kc is good enough not to copy the logo also, I would say that these are clones or replicas instead of fakes. Fakes includes the logo at the bottom of the cap. Yes they reserve the rights to sell whomever they want, but IMO they should let us know if it's a totally random selection of people or they choose a certain amount of people first only choose others. P.S. I didn't butthurt ah This post has been edited by zennasyndroxx: Sep 4 2014, 04:38 PM |

Didn't the Toxic sales was done on a random raffles basis? It is now hosted in ctrlalt.io and it is completely random. As for CC sales, I can tell you that there are a lot more new accounts that got the CC than the old folks. I doubt CC has any preference and Bro Caps is taking steps to avoid this ambiguity.

I'm not sure about that, yes it's hosted on ctrlalt but can we know for sure that they randomly choose? Unless they did a live stream of choosing winners then losers can shut up and accept that they're unfortunate, including me.
What about the recent cc sale? We really don't know the backend of the story unless they're fully transparent about it. |

See, I joined GH in Aug 2013, almost a year. In that one year, I had won almost 8 BroBots in each of the sales that happened. I had lost about 2-3. As for CC, I lost in the 420 sales last April but CC later selected a few who joined in 420 for the Earth Day Dibs and I was one of them selected. That was how I won the Eyeland and Enviro CC (my current Avatar). I am Malaysian. I don't know them at all. I gotta think it is through raffles or fast email submission and luck. Sometimes I stayed up till 3AM or 4AM to participate in the sale.
Of course, I also participate actively in the forum and contribute as a community member. I don't think it's entirely fair to say that there is preference sale. If there are any intention to give preference, Bro Caps or CC does not have to do a sale. Why do they have to proof this? They might as well give them dibs privately! Bro Caps sometimes do give private dibs. But I think on the public sales, it's free for all and fair. |

i got no beef with people trying their luck in sales. much respect for going the right way.
my beef is with those 'senior' members who bash the counterfeiters till the end of the world, but turns the way around when their own circle throws ridiculous money for them caps. then they have the audacity to 'ask' everyone else wait for literally months and spend $200 for a cap. oh and with luck. |

Granted, in any community, there's bound to be someone who are more vocal probably due to their time spent. But overall, I still think it was a fun community. Just ignore those that gets on your nerves, after all, this is just a hobby and don't let a few bad individuals whom you don't agree with spoil the fun. You guys should also serious look at some of the upcoming artisan - Hipster Punks' KBK Mummy 2 and Nubbinator Dollies are two of my current favourites. Their caps are just so fun and crafty! And they are very affordable at this moment. Nubb recently had a sale at 4am and I submitted one second too early. Wanna kick myself hard!

That's why if I were to sell it, I'll sell it for the price I got it from bro. He's really a nice guy. |

For some reason, I'm slowly moving away from novelty keycaps. More interested in korean boards/60% nowadays |

Yeah, I remember his first sale. It was 3AM. And at 2.40AM he put on the email address and I thought I got lucky and sent email. Then I went back to bed and realise, OMG, he probably put that in advance. By the time I scrambled to compose a new email and sent at 3.02AM, I am already WAYYYY too late. Lesson learned! But that was really fun and exciting!

QUOTE(belfong @ Sep 4 2014, 05:41 PM) ha ha ha .. you are not happy because of the Tri-OG is now almost unobtainable? relax bro not really. don't have to be something expensive for you to keep as a collection. i'm gunning for the night owl. asked around the suggested price. WTF those idiots still 'recommend' me to agree on paying $200-$250 for it.got someone from singapore saw me asking around. he asked how much i'm willing to pay for it. its a topper, and he doesn't even have a topper board. i said $100 max, you don't even have a board to put it on, no inflated price please. of course he saw me at the evaluation thread, he just ignored me after that. |
