Dont forget Dolph Lundgren
Action hero and Ivan Drago suddenly mellowed down as DC king now haha
Didn't recognize him with shirts on and beard kept wondering throughout the movie who the heck is he, looks so damn familiar, but can't place a name or related movies with that face only during the credit rolls that I got my answer

He did well with whatever lines he was given. Funny, I always thought he'd speak in a weird russian accent for some reason If he's king, he's king
Depending on which writer handling the storyline, Geoff John version of Arthur Curry is the powerhouse hero you don't mess with. He is a little more like Jamie Lannister. A little rough on the edges and pretty brutal. Dan Abnett version has him returning to the noble hero roots. This movie version just a little streamline to the usual reluctant hero with added surfer bro demeanor. Glad it's Jason Mamoa otherwise you'll be looking at a Chris Pine look-a-like casting. Just wish they put more effort in fleshing out the characters and storyline.

In the books Orm didn't antagonize Aquaman, Arthur Curry was not vying for the throne but serving next to it. It was a political manipulation that caused the war on the surface. Orm actually carrying out war strategy designed by Arthur Curry in the event the human attack Atlantis. The war brought by Orm took many casualties that force Arthur Curry to defeat Orm to halt more damage to the surface dwellers. He gave a beating to Orm so severe that Ocean Master conceded his throne to him. The shocker is Vulko behind the plot to make Orm attacking the surface so Arthur can usurp the throne that Vulko sees rightfully belongs to him. So Orm plotting his return to the throne in his jail cell. It plays differently than the movie and the animated version of it. As it has a more nuanced adversarial between Orm and Arthur. Black Manta is what Joker to Batman in the Aquaman lore. The movie did not do justice to the revenge thirsty villain.
Not saying the movie has to mimic 100% of source material but at least give a more meaningful spin or recontextualized it to something more refreshing.

I think this film is more closer to animated movie jl: throne of atlantis rather than new 52 comic version of throne of atlantis..

maybe I misheard or miss the part... but why those soldiers from Atlantis need to wear water filled suits when they go on land, but Mera no need? Is it something about only royal blood can breath on land?

When atlantis sank under the ocean a thousand years ago, some gained the ability to breath underwater, and only some retained the ability to breath both air and water. Also some evolved to become fishermen, brine or trenchers

You missed the part. It was explained that only royals can breathe air.
Watched it last Friday. Personally, few superhero movies are able to leave deep and memorable impression on me.
The last few superhero movies that did are: Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Hand to hand combat on the highway scene and the thriller vibe across the whole movie;
Both 2 Guardians of the Galaxy movies - It was supposed to be funny and silly space movies, but when I watched it, there were quite a number of touching moments, especially the second movie.
Now, funny as it sounds, Aquaman is supposed to be an underdog and a joke of a superhero in DC comics. But to my eyes, Aquaman is the best DCEU movie by far, although it is not without its shortcomings. Memorable impressions by far: - The camera movement of the fight scenes are the most unique and satisfying I have seen in superhero movie after CA:TWS - Romance between Aquaman's parents - Atlantis's colourful world - Theme song at the end
EDIT: In DCEU, I really wanted Man of Steel to leave the memorable impressions like Aquaman did, but for some reason it didn't, sadly.
This movie is good but feel like" black panther, sword in the stone, ironman, starwars, transformers, avatar and avatar."Â Â A lot of wow moment, like nicole kidman and the final battle.
Overall Aquaman is a good movie but just not great as wonder woman.
In terms of rewatchability, I'd rate Aquaman higher.
Wonder Woman has a great story but it's a one-off thing. Once you know the story, repeat viewings are pointless. I only watched wonder woman once in the cinema Aquaman had a serviceable story but it's set in an amazing fantasy world you'd want to revisit over and over. Going to see Aquaman for the third time this wiken

Definitely agreed with you, I watched it 2 times already. 😀
