For one day only, I'll take that "RM" away and replace it with "yen". So any one of you wants a GW-A1030A-1AJR for 105,000 Yen, call me at 012-3456789. rclxms.gif

GD-X6900FB-8B looks cool. I found it selling on Lazada.com.my.

Placed an order for myself! Purchasing it by using their App with promotion code ("WATCH") have an additional 25% off for watches. It's around RM 265 after discounted.

since outdoors, why not get ABC model like rangeman or gulfmaster?
but rangeman the length is huge...while gulfmaster is an acquired taste.
cheaper there is of cos one of the newer protreks with v3 sensor, PRG270 rm400-500+ only...similar module as rangeman with ABC and sunrise/sunset times.
but i find the barometer kinda useless for predicting weather here...the altimeter and compass are decent enough...
another new protrek thats quite sexy is the PRW6000...but better wait for non-atomic version...

Casio Barometer is not useless. Unless you understand the terminology of absolute air pressure, then Casio ABC might work for you. In my many years using Casio barometer model, from the first Sky Force DW-6500 to the current Rangeman GW-9400, not a big issue to me after all. The first thing you need clarify how it's working by observing the barometric history graph. The lower dot of the far right on the screen, the worst weather it will becomes, same as the higher dot, the weather will turned to fair. However, it's also came with one conditions, that you may need to stay permanently at the same location to monitor the current whether.

As Casio is improving it's Barometer models, such as the Protrek PRG-250, PRW-3000 by adding Barometric Pressure Indicator which is a series of arrow to informed you whether condition in past, current and future.

What mostly is that Casio Barometer is for general usage for weather monitoring and not a precision instruments. If you ever need such things, there is some some high model such as Suunto Core/Ambit or Germin Fenix 2 series outdoor watch to meet your need but which the famous "Shock Resistant" technology on G-SHock.

For Gulfmaster is actually a "sandwich" version of Protrek PRW-6000 with G-Shock Technology.

Finally, here is simple rule.

Casio ABC watch = Timekeeping first, Instrumentation secondary.
Suunto/Garmin Fenix/Timex = Instrumentation First, Timekeeping secondary.

cheers

yes i am well aware how barometer works.
outdoors, i've seen storms come without any rapid barometric drops on both my PRG270 and PRW6000.
all the drops and rises are a very general guideline anyway...
and perhaps it would be more useful in a country where there are high fluctuations in pressure.

Hi,

I searched for Thailand keyword but nothing came up so I am just going to ask here.
Sorry if I missed the posting about this.
I am going over to Bangkok next week, so I was wondering if it would be cheaper to buy a G-shock in Thailand?
What will happen to the warranty? And the warranty claim process?
Will Casio (Macro) in Malaysia accepted the warranty?

Thanks
Alvin

Nope. Singapore is still cheaper until the exchange rate goes up.

Looking at it, some of the sellers in Lelong is way cheaper than Singapore. Like gpeople.

I found out MT-G in Paradigm Mall is selling only 3k. thumbup.gif

Ah...This is the most common problem for GD-100. At least 7 out of 10 people I know with GD-100 suffered this.

Most of my friends don't bother fixing it because the cost is as high as a new GD-100 itself. If you still have warranty, then send for RMA. If not, Just buy another one.
