Some notice for my fellow G-Shockers. Some shop will try to cheat you when you go for a battery replacement. G-Shock got two main components. The outer rubber casing and the stainless steel watch module inside. In my case, the shopkeeper replaced the stainless steel module with some cheap knockoff while still retaining the original outer rubber casing. Luckily, i test all the buttons before i walk away and i quickly noticed that the function of each buttons have changed.

Hi Guys,

Quick question, where can I sell my good condition G-Shock G8100-1 (Black) & get the best price out of it? and what is the estimated price I can sell it for now? I remember buying it close to RM 500 some time ago...

Watch comes with everything + the original box. 100% Genuine.

I know I can sell at Mudah, but not many people appreciate the watch there... I would prefer if I can sell it to someone who appreciates the watch smile.gif

Guys I heard Tough Solar series got problems. True? Plan to get GR8900 series. Or should I just go with GDX6900?

no more warranty bro...this is my wedding gift so i prefer to get it fix...where can i send my watch for repairs?
*
I understand.
You can send it back to MarcoMarco.

I asked for mine to be repaired some time back and I got a verbal quote of "Around RM250". Not too sure how accurate is that.

Another alternative is to buy another one exactly like it and just replace the whole module yourself. Then keep the band and bezel as spare. Won't be cheaper but the cost should be around there.

I doubt you can sell it at RM500. Maybe RM300 or so, considering eBay is selling at USD110 to USD140 or so. Furthermore, eBay prices are usually marked up. (Source)

If the price is right, there are buyers for the G8100.

If I'm you, I'll keep it. It's a unique G-Shock. Kinda rare but not too hard to get. Kinda "vintage-y" but not really an old model.

If I see someone on the streets wearing one, I'll glance twice because it's a nice and unique piece and pretty different from the 6900s that most people wear. Collectors will appreciate it.

Hi guys,

Any watch shops to recommend in KL/Selangor ? Looking to get a GShock, but my wrist diameter is damn small, so I want to try them out first before buying. (Hence avoiding the idea of buying online) I know u can get the watches cheaper online (lelong etc) but was wondering if similar "physical" shops exist. tongue.gif

I pointed out the "discrepancies" and told the man to "fix it".

I knew it because i've open my watch before and examine the innards. No i didn't watch him fix it as he take my watch to the back. But my watch is already 8 years old. It has wears and tears that i can easily identify and it's unique to my watch. Plus all the button feel's just right biggrin.gif. So i decided he "fix it" already aka replacing the SS module with the original one. Anyway below are the example of the inside of G-Shock. You can see the outer rubber casing in the background on the table.

not major. maybe a few. GR-8900 is okay. But I think GD-X6900 is better.
