Yea, yesterday made 20 million in profit, quite nice for 1st time Station Trading. What do you mean killmail? It seems like I didn't learn much just from reading guides

I believe what he meant by killmail was more ships and stuff being destroyed to keep the demand for modules and ships to be high.

I normally regard manufacturing in EVE to be of 3 tiers:
Tier 1: T1 manufacturing. Basically you produce the T1 items from fully researched BPO and you sell to T2 manufacturers who's manufacturing slots are more efficiently used to product T2 stuff. An offshoot from this tier is rigs manufacturing which you can just sell directly to market.
Tier 2: You produce Tech 2 components that basically converts moon mat into components for tech 2 parts (i.e. Tungsten Carbide Armor Plates, Scalar Capacitor Units & etc). For this, you basically need the proper skills to manufacture these stuff. For those of you who wants to manufacture first (and not bother with invention), this is the route to go.
Tier 3: You invent, and then you build the complete Tech 2 ships/modules. If you're in this tier, you buy your components, raw mats etc from market and just focus on churning out the modules (yes, you can build everything from scratch but your time to market will be much longer and you might be more vulnerable to market changes). This tier is the same if you are producing Tech 3 so grouped both as Tier 3 manufacturing.
So for new players who wants to dabble in manufacturing, move from Tier to Tier and you might even find suitable Tier 3 manufacturer to supply your Tier 1 product to at a fixed price. This is a good way to start up a small corp that does their own mining, build T1 modules and sell to Tier 3 producers and if mineral prices took a dip, just buy off the market.
Anyway, there are many ways to play the game and what I've illustrated above is just a suggestion and may be used as a reference to new players.

My "Used to be awesome plan" 1: Mining and missioning daily (plus salvage for more money) 2: Keep money for BPO/BPC and Towers up plus maintenance. Mining might take a week or up to you to fill em up to build how much and Missioning that give you standing and points to use up for research and mods. 3: Stop mining and missioning as BPC printing will be "that" profitable, or still do it as your prints gets sold off. Then you'll get the hang of it in trading and "show face" with other players (Market PvP). That was my "the plan", one american dude of mine did it within 6 months? than now he plays casual with 8 accs. I don't know about the current state, but yea Oh, and this picture » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Quite an improvement from a XeCL Beam.
