Its not heard. It is allowed. Can drink beer and stuff also. But then they make half section smoking and the other half not. Then later ban altogether.

all d talk about theatres made me recall an incident at GSC MV back 2000

Me n a fren from tuition class went to MV one Saturday. We ponteng our special SPM tuition class. after wandering around for hours we decided to watch a movie. it was Titan AE.

Back then I was always paranoid that my parents will catch me smoking. half way thru d movie we decided to go get a smoke in d toilet. we headed right to the end of d toilet n lighted up. tiba2 a bun of adults n kids walked in. i din look at them at 1st but i noticed this kid staring at me. i looked at him properly n oh shit its my cousin.

I looked at the group properly n it was my uncle n a few cousins LOL OMG wat r d chances of that happening. i told my fren to stand in front of me to block their view. it worked as my uncle didn't see my face. but my cousin did.

during d next family gathering i was so sked i will kena kantoi. but nope i din kena. many years later i asked my cousin (who edi a teenager) whether he saw me or not....he said he did LOL but din tell anyone.

You'd rather spend money to be cold in a cinema and not know what's happening in the movie, than to enjoy the entire experience with some human warmth?

apa permainan? It's an honest suggestion ma. You can go with your bf or any random guy whom you don't mind having yourself wrapped in his arms.

Lets see whats the difference?

Building - Stand alone compared to multiplex in malls. Stand alone building has few side exit doors. Toilets was usually at the side of the main screen covered by curtains.

Tickets - Comes in classes of seats. Tickets also different color. Paper is like tissue and will bleed color if got wet. Attendant use pens or puncher or stamp to mark the tickets.

Seats - The really old ones had wooden seats. During the movie you could hear squeaks and creaks. When the movie is over, the whole cinema will be ringing sounds of booming chairs folding down. Much like some continuous items falling down from stairs.

Food - Traditional. You could buy kuih even. Kuaci is very common. So is hanging packets of drinks on the arm rest or the corner of the seat itself.

Environment - The sound are usually loud. The more nearer u seat the more louder it is. Unlike today where the place is designed to spread sound evenly. Smoking was allowed. Some cinema have fans in them. Some have air conds. Some a combo of both.

Ticket price? That time I remember RM1.50 per entry. Kids was like 70 cents or or something. Baby comes in free. Some cinema only shows certain type of movies.

Salute still can remember all these! The only thing was the ticket price near the end was much more expensive liao. I think even RM5.00 per entry also got.
