Past = Standalone, hot, warm, only fan

Plus, only a few halls, usually less than 5

Present = Usually located in malls, air-conditioned

Nowadays, there are so many creature comforts in cinema, there are standard halls, higher priced exclusive halls with larger seats etc.

During the early days of GSC, their seats used to stink of B.O

i remember watching many movies at GSC MV n dreaded resting my head on the headrest. every time i fear doing it. coz during one particular saturday afternoon after a movie, i started smelling strong B.O n unwashed hair smell around me. it cant be me coz i always take a bath n wash my hair b4 going out. plus i use styling product on my hair so so early in d day it wont stink.

i got home n smelled my clothes...walau damm stink.

d next time i went to GSC MV i out my nose closer to the seat. true enuf d B.O n unwashed smell came fr d seats n got stuck on my clothes n hair. after that many yrs i no go GSC MV. went to GSC 1U instead as the place was new n no stink.

The earliest Cineplex is probably Dalit Cinema inside Komtar Shopping Complex.

It was around since the 80s.

Now no more of course.

Not sure if there are any old cinema format in shopping complexes at other places.

Lol okay even my parents were still little kids by then.

But old cinema has the kind of feel that cineplex don't have.
I remember sitting in a car where father drove us to cinema, you can see the Cathay building from afar and we can literally see that we are heading towards the cinema. Then father parked the car across the road, and we crossed the road towards a cinema which was again literally the building itself too.

In late 90's, all that feel is gone.
