QUOTE(takeshiru @ Aug 31 2018, 12:20 AM) Hello guys. Axia where got 5th gear?Need so advice on atf oils. Got an axia, 600km down i itchy hand went and change to top tech 1200 atf fluid + lube gard plat. Hoping to get a better gear change. However i feel like the gear change is pretty fast. It changes to 3-4-5 gear at low rpm. Feels weird. Manual mention d3-sp and i freaknout and bought back the original d3-sp and got it changed. Question, is it wrong atf fuild used? Too slippery? Or lubegard plat makes the gear shift like that? Feels abit jumpy when im using the toptech 1200. Not sure its suppose to be like that. Anyone could comment on this? Im a big fan of lubegard, used it previously and had good experience. Not sure the jump feeling is the atf being incompatible or the lubegard does that. New car you went change ATF, really no trouble finds trouble. Does Top Tech 1200 compatibility list have Perodua D3-SP? |

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Dec 16 2019, 04:40 PM) Engine oil most expensive material is the viscosity modifier. It cost few times more than the base oil. However base oil makes up nearly 90% of the eo. Thanks for sharing insights on the additive properties. Have you analyzed Castrol Edge before? Just curious was it OCP or PAMA because my butt dyno "feel" it was lighter than S Ultra with same viscosity...Most eo in Malaysia, including SHEL MALAYSIA using cheap viscosity modifier aka olefin copolymer (OCP) based, more premium german brands are using Poly Akly Methacrylate (PAMA) based viscosity modifier. Result? better fuel economy and shear stability. Experienced it myself. I tinker with the formulations on my work. PAMA is 2-3 times more expensive than OCP based, which results in several fold more expensive compared to base oil. Base oil prices very much fluctuate according to the availability and the major player's control. |

QUOTE(incredibless @ Dec 21 2019, 03:08 PM) Those who want buy shell helix ultra 5w40 SN Plus. Its RM99 promo at tesco ara damansara. Production is SEP19. Made in HK. About 20 over bottles left. Btw out of curiosity, went n check the same oil sold by petrol station and what i can see the only different is front sticker (utk pasaran msia) and the back sticker is exactly the same as the one sold in tesco.😅 This morning went Tesco Ara Damansara didn't saw this promotion, I think RM129 something.Maybe morning they haven't ready the promotion price tag? For the rear sticker, you mean petrol station Shell also same Made in HK? Since you said both same sticker... This post has been edited by voscar: Dec 21 2019, 05:06 PM |

QUOTE(incredibless @ Dec 22 2019, 06:55 PM) I went was at night... the ultra sold in kiosk is made in hk also..only HX 7 and HX5 is made in Malaysia. Ok, now we knew the local Ultra series sold by station isn't "specially formulated" by our local engineer from local university whom undergone their special additive for local climate thesis research. |

QUOTE(free2d @ May 9 2023, 05:24 PM) My Vios went to dealer to change 5w30 oil which I think is mineral. What is the invoice item name? I thought should be semi synthetic for the 5W30.They told me to come back after 10000km. Full Synthetic only has 5w40. Can mineral last that long? Thinking of changing after 5000km outside garage, then 10000km go back to dealer again. Thanks |

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Mar 9 2025, 12:38 PM) Many years back I've seen Audi VW oil filter, written 30,000km. For those old days 1990-2000s Audi A6/A4 type I think. This post has been edited by voscar: Mar 9 2025, 09:02 PM GamersFamilia liked this post

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Mar 9 2025, 09:36 PM) In shopee ive seen a few oil filters up to 15000km, but most fully only up to 10000km and some claimed up to 15000km What car you driving? If continental car then the service interval follow service center is 1 year or every 15000km right? That's what my previous VW Polo Sedan specified. So thinking to try the one fully up to 15000km due to lots of travelling nowadays 🤔🔥 This post has been edited by voscar: Mar 10 2025, 12:05 AM |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Mar 10 2025, 08:32 AM) Even Conti owners I known (VW, Volvo) where their recommended oil change viscosity at 15k km, change it at 8k km unofficial and at 15k km at SC for official service Actually I think no problem to change at 1 year or 15000km whichever earlier. Modern fully synthetic oil and modern engine have advanced so much and lasting.Gone are days mineral engine oil 20w50 running on old engine, 130c oil temperature is just middle mark only. Can imagine the oil lifespan shorten and becoming sludge. |
