Update from the Star: KL Mayor: Stop work order issued to developer and contractor over crawler crane incidentQUOTE KUALA LUMPUR: A stop work order has been issued to the developer and contractor of a construction project in Sentul after a crawler crane fell and injured several people.
City mayor Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan said that Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had taken immediate action following the incident on Friday (Dec 13) night.
“The stop work order will be in effect until DOSH issues a complete report of the incident, ” he said.
He added that a notice under Section 70B (5)(a) of the Road, Drainage and Building Act 1974 was also issued for failure to maintain safety or public property while carrying out construction work.

Glad there are no fatalities or bad injuries, Apparently, it was due to ongoing rains. Looks like project will be delayed for sure.
Does anyone know how long DOSH reports take? Heard its about 3 months but I think its case by case.
I will happily accept the LAD as I'm not desperate for it to finish. But not all buyers will feel the same I suppose. Sad news overall as they have been going at a steady pace lately. But safety of site comes first.

Yeah, this is how fake news spread. I msg Skyworld semalam, and they said they will put out a statement after they have investigated it thoroughly. Hope they handle the PR of this thing properly.
I'm just glad nobody was hurt badly or died. I think this wan they can still work with DBKL to tighten up safety and get back to building it. Spoke to a contact in DBKL and they said this is unlikely to disrupt the project much as they got lucky with not hurting or killing anyone. But his opinion is if there are any potential issues, it might come from the squatter community opposite the project and they might use this to stage protests but let's see la. Hope all ends well for every party concerned.
Hope this is a wakeup call for all in the industry to ensure heavy equipment is handled better during bad weather.
