however he ask me does it contain the dvd drive like y510p or need to buy separately and swap with the ODD in order to use it
any idea ?

Revised my budget. University student here in need of new laptop

1. No preferred brand
2. Budget less than 3k
3. Used for assignments, gaming (wolfenstein, watchdogs etc), photo/ video editing, web browsing
4. Preferred screen size 14~15.6"
5. Battery life and smooth multitasking an added bonus.

I've done some research and found that the lenovo y40 or y410 to be my best options. Which one should I get? Other suggestions are more than welcome.

**Did some browsing and research, so it came down to Asus K551LN-XX251H or Lenovo Z50-70. As these 2 models have roughly the same specs, just minor differences in terms of their CPU and GPU, very minor. So I was wondering which would be better, more like in terms of quality and support.
As notebookcheck.net has only a review for the Lenovo Z50-70 but not for the Asus K series. So I hope someone could shed some light on which brand would fare better.

The Y50 model doesn't not come with an ODD.

But some sellers are bundling it with an external ODD for certain configurations. Maybe that helps?

Asus is definitely out when it comes to warranty services
So its just the Lenovo 

the FREE LENOVO EXTERNAL SLIM DVDRW is using like market those dvd burner which use USB is it ?

I think so, not really sure.   
Try asking the seller for more info or Lenovo retailers to see if they have that kind of bundle.
