1. Preferred Brand: Asus or Lenovo or other brands.
2. Budget: RM 2000 - RM2599
3. Usage : Editing photos, Microsoft Office, some movies or anime. Still need an ODD due to the ancient methods still being practiced. sweat.gif Looking for portability with practicality. tongue.gif
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15 inches

**Did some browsing and research, so it came down to Asus K551LN-XX251H or Lenovo Z50-70. As these 2 models have roughly the same specs, just minor differences in terms of their CPU and GPU, very minor. So I was wondering which would be better, more like in terms of quality and support.
As notebookcheck.net has only a review for the Lenovo Z50-70 but not for the Asus K series. So I hope someone could shed some light on which brand would fare better.

Thanks biggrin.gif

sorry I quite confusing here
my friend interested to get the lenovo Y50
however he ask me does it contain the dvd drive like y510p or need to buy separately and swap with the ODD in order to use it
any idea ?
*
The Y50 model doesn't not come with an ODD.

But some sellers are bundling it with an external ODD for certain configurations. Maybe that helps?

Try asking the seller for more info or Lenovo retailers to see if they have that kind of bundle.

May I know when the y50 and y40 will be released?

I know that the Lenovo Y50-70 is already out, loads of dealers are selling it at the garage with a variety different configurations.
As for the Y40, still no news of anyone selling. doh.gif
The M'sian main website seems to be slow in updating their series and models there. sweat.gif

should be haha
although nowadays DVD quite useless, mainly use it when need to burn files whistling.gif
luckily some seller got bundle with the external DVD drive rclxms.gif

Yeah, it's phasing out but it's still useful when you need it for reinstalling windows or drivers that came in the original DVD.
Or I would need a ODD to create a bootable USB from that DVD too. biggrin.gif

That external ODD is actually included by Lenovo, don't think the sellers actually would be kind enough to throw that into the package haha!

Lenovo seems to be doing really good with it's new Y series, sleek yet packing quite a punch in terms of performance.

What kinda games are you looking forward to play? With a limited budget, running games that are graphics hungry are kinda impossible at high settings, maybe medium would be fine? hmm.gif
