1. Preferred Brand
None specifically

2. Budget
<RM2500

3. Usage
General gaming (3D, medium graphics), uni usage (3D modelling/designing/photoshop etc not required), regular internet surfing, videos and music

4. Preferred laptop/screen size
as big as possible

I prefer a fast performance laptop. Customer support/warranty doesn't really matter to me.
Touchscreen is a bonus (can ditch touchscreen if there's better laptops without touchscreen for the same price)

Just kindly give me a list of laptops that i should be looking into and I'll do my research biggrin.gif
*
Asus transformer book flip tp500ln, i5-4210u, gt840, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd + 24gb msata, 15.6" hd touchscreen, hybrid
~known for its bad and reflective screen, go check it yourself

Lenovo z50-70, i5-4210u, gt840m, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd,
15.6" full hd screen

Dell inspiron 14 5547, i7-4510u, amd r7-m265, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, 15.6" full hd touch. This one you need to ask @myway for availability

Alternatively, you can pick Rm2000 laptop and change the hard disk to ssd for fast performance.

Can you give me any recommendations if I were to go for rm2000 + ssd? Storage space isn't a problem for me anyways since I can get external hard drives. Performance is everything for me.
Thanks so much senpai
*
Check my recommendation above your post for sub Rm2000 laptop.

For ssd, try any of these

Intel 530 240gb - 5 years warranty
Samsung evo 840 250gb - 3 years
Crucial mx100 256gb - 3years

Price around Rm409-469 ~sorry, dunno current pricing sweat.gif

You can also use the original hdd in the laptop as external hdd. Just buy external casing for it. icon_idea.gif

1. Preferred Brand: Any, except lenovo and asus
2. Budget: Below 2.5K
3. Usage: Dota 2, LOL
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15.6 , 17.3
5. Resolution must be 1920x1080p, and have SSD, 8 GB RAM or more
*
full hd screen and ssd are too much for 2.5k budget. Only dell and lenovo offer full hd below 2.5k. Btw, this is my suggestion:

Lenovo z50-70, i5-4210u, gt840m, 4gb ram, 1tb + 8gb sshd, 15.6" full hd

Dell inspiron 14 5547. This one have many specs. Ask myway for exact specs and price. Should be around 2.5k.

~Additional 4gb ram stick should be below Rm200

Haha Thank you. How about MSI ? Got any alternative for z5070 ? rclxms.gif
*
Msi GE60-2PE leopard, maybe?
i5-4200H, gt840m, 4gb ram, 750gb hdd, 15.6 full hd @ Rm2699. Sorry, dunno much about msi laptop. You can contact lyn forumer, storm88 for more detail. They sell msi product.

~Just checked msi fb. They got promo for this model till 31jan, where you can add 128gb msata ssd @ Rm99 (standard price should be Rm300)

Another one is Acer E5-571G, same spec like z50-70 but no full hd and 500gb hdd, not sshd @ Rm1999

Any asus model with equivalent specs and price as dell Inspiron 14 7447?

Asus A550jk
the only difference is 15.6" screen. But why you want asus? hmm.gif

i just wonder, have anyone did the survey what is the cheapest price and model for laptop come with SSD and at least i5 above?

Laptop with preinstalled ssd is quite expensive. Better buy a normal laptop then change the hdd to ssd. What is your preferable budget?

1. Preferred Brand: Any. Prefer less bulk. No CD drive is ok. No glossy plastics.
2. Budget: 3.2k-4.2k
3. Usage: Encoding, GTA V capable gaming and other newer games in good framerate.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15' FULLHD. IPS/IGZO is preferred but it's ok if it's a normal LCD.

Battery life: Standard or better because it'll be my only machine for now. I won't be lugging it around often. Good after support service is a bonus.

Do list out any pros and cons. Appreciate your opinions guys.  smile.gif

Hi, I'm looking for a gaming laptop, that isnt too pricey, I was thinking of a lenovo y50-70 or should i just wait for the next generation of processors with the release of the i7 - fifth generation, i need a 1TB hardisk, maybe with an SSHD, 8Gb ram, and perhaps a GTX 860 4gb graphic card for future games.

1. Preferred Brand - None specifically

2. Budget - 3.2-3.3k
3. Usage
General gaming - Dota 2, battle field, COD
Downloads - Movies

4. Preferred laptop/screen size - i think a 15.6" would suffice
*
Better wait for 5th gen processor if you can. Lenovo y50-70 is good choice though, or you can try Acer Aspire V Nitro.

Well, actually not many reviews for low budget device. I suggest you open your own thread, and let their owner list the pros and cons. That way you might feel better.

~Asus x452LD only have 2gb ram, you need to upgrade more ram, because one of forumer complain it was slow and lags before adding 4gb ram stick.

So Im a student my budget as far as it can go is 2700,

What I want is

1. i7 or anything that is the best with the price
2. Any GPU with also the best with the price
3. 1TB hdd (mostly for movies and a few games like fallout, titanfall, cod series and bf3)
4. 8GB ram
5. Win 8.1

My first option is Dell Inspiron 15 5547 and the thing I like about it is the specs.
But from what I saw in the internet, it doesnt have a DVD writer but its ok, I'll get an external one.
But again the keyboard is not the best and thats pretty much the cons that I concerned

Would mind if add some budget to 200-300+

a good example?

i5-4210 4GB 1TB+8GB NV GT840 4GB 15.6" W8.1 2 YRS / WHT / MOUSE
*
Also can consider Acer E5-571G, i5-5200u, gt840m, 15.6", 4gb ram. SRP is Rm2099. ( same model with previous 4th gen might cheaper). For ssd, just buy any after market ssd.
