This Maybank VS is quite a good card on Paper as it offers 5% for Petrol and Groceries capped at RM88 per month.
However, the high AF of RM550 could be deterring factor although it can be waived for spending above RM50K per annum. Do you guys think that Maybank will be willing to waive it especially for those who only use it for Petrol and Groceries and spend only like RM12K to RM15K per annum? |

Bro, just sign up for it and enjoy for maybe 11 months 5% cash back. a month before anniversary go beg for annual fee waiver. If they not willing to entertain you, go convert TP to cash and cancel the card However, the high AF of RM550 could be deterring factor although it can be waived for spending above RM50K per annum. Going to ask my wife to line up at various Merchants to swipe at 10.01 am.The Card looks good, better than other CB for Petrol and Groceries in the market at the moment. just wondering whether I should transfer my spending from other cards like OCBC to satisfy the RM50K spending requirement. My other retail spending can reach RM40K per year = RM400 cash back Petrol and Groceries perhaps RM12K to RM15K = RM600 to RM750 But if convert 40,000 RP to Cash, still get RM160 (compared to RM400) but get to enjoy the RM600 to RM750. What do u think. Also concerned if accumulate RP, Maybank pulls an Alliance trick on the RP Conversion. Kena Slash by 50%, sure to curse and swear |

It is free for life with absolutely no catch. You get 5% cash back for petrol and grocery transactions too. The difference however is that only transactions made on these two categories on Friday and Saturday are eligible for this 5% cash back and it is capped at RM50 per month (RM88/month for MBB VS and transactions made on these two categories on any day will get 5% cash back). [/quote] Hey, thanks for the great suggestion. Did not know that. Most of my spendign is on weekdays, hence did not consider the M2Cards but this Ikhwan can be considered as replacement for Signature next year. |
