ahhh then 430 isn't the master. It's the Strato that controls.

When you say 430 is mater, it means 430 literally is the point where it emits the controlling data.

consider getting soft boxes instead of umbrella.

Woah this is better than umbrella. Cause umbrella will need to bounce and lost of light.

Hmmmm means need tripod also. Where u get the soft box?

I can check for you where to buy. biggrin.gif Mine are samples from distributor. wink.gif

Try visit places like http://www.dgcoloronline.com/

or try contact http://www.gstrapinuse.com/

Umbrella and softbox works differently. Umbrella spreads the light all over the place while softbox directs. You may look into stuff like snoot and gabo if you need even more detailed crafting of the light.

Looks good, good use of light to bring out the texture of the fish. biggrin.gif I don't think I can do any much better if given this dish.

Thanks biggrin.gif Glad to hear that from you.

It was a 5 minute setup lit by just a single phone flash mounted on softbox, turns out better than my expectation.

really liking the outcome from light painting, since you can create a really large light source with just a tiny light, same result might only be achieved with complicated lighting setup or with a large reflector. too bad it doesn't work in portrait or moving subjects like watches.

Needs tripod though, and the problem is consistency.

Yeah, since the angle is quite fixed. But its fun since the result differ a lot even by a slight change of timing. smile.gif

something new, might be handy when dealing with not so perfect skin smile.gif

thank you.

No problem.
It's actually an industry standard technique to "fix things" like shiny(oily) faces, overexposed or harsh shadows.

A bit of a change rather than the gear talk.
I realize that there are not that much information sharing other than "which gear" should I get/use in this thread.

I feel there are quite a bit more we could all share in this thread.
Great locations to shoot, how to tackle tricky situations, pre-shoot planning, post production, marketing, workflow etc etc.

For me, one of the biggest recent aha moment was finding the joy of using a cheap wacom tablet and brush with low flow on photoshop.
I've always been using opacity and ugh... if only I find out on the use of flow earlier lol.

I like how the green light and the orange lighting makes the picture a bit more punchier

I don't see why can't we discuss all of these on this thread.
It always seem like a sharing thread among Canon users.
