anyone here using canon 16-35mm F4 IS lens? Still wondering is it worth to get this lens if compare to canon 17-40mm F4.

With the amount pay for 3k+, i can get a 2nd hand 17-40mm F4 & a samyang 14mm f2.8

you answered your own question. Its not about how many lens or what lens you got or can buy..its about WHAT USAGE you need these lenses for

i need it for interior, architecture & landscape purpose. occasionally for group portrait.

I've just ordered 16-35mm F4L IS and will post some info by next week (after my trip) on my findings of this lens. This lens should be good enough for interior and architectural purposes however it is arguably that 17mm & 24mm TS-E would do better on interior/architecture due to tilt & shift ability. Sharpness corner to corner wide open against 17-40mm is much better but according to the internet, from f/8 onward not much difference but again internet argues that micro contrast is much better on the former lens. If budget allows I will definitely go for new lens with the proof of recent new lenses released by Canon is superior and has no match from other competitors. I never had 17-40mm but have used 16-35mm 2.8 II it is very good but corner sharpness will only pick up from f/8 again.

If you need f/2.8 then there is only 1 choice otherwise the new F4 version is a no brainer.

Any lens will do for group portrait.

I have Samyang 14mm 2.8 this lens is super wide, good for landscape and astro photography which I really enjoy using it. Corner is shite though...

price will tell the optic quality and performance + the era of technology.

Hi, a short googling with keyword "EOS 1200D battery" confirms that its battery is indeed LP-E10. I think you can buy the battery in almost every camera shop in town. Or if you fancy online shopping, I bet Lazada or Rakuten have it.

how and what did you google ? How sure are you with the information provided here ?

i google EOS 1100D battery. Then they both are using the same model..so i guess they are compatible.. some more 1200D is replace 1100D one.. so i guess yeah...

you should google the model you bought not any other model. Anyway great you got the answer here.

for 50mm f/1.8 vs 1.4, the price doesn't tell the quality.

in fact no one could actually tell the 16-35 and 17-40's pictures apart, can't even differentiate it between those and the cheap 10-18!

I was thinking of a 17-40mm for my 6D. If really can't tell the difference between the UWA lens i might as well just continue using my Tokina 11-16mm on my 6D. Yeah @16mm it works fine with no vignettes.

The corners seem a bit soft with the Tokina, but it seems all UWA lenses will have this problem.

16-35 F4 IS is new lens. Where got so fast sell out.

Toki 11-16 can be mounted on 6D?

For the 6D , Yeah the tokina 11-16mm is EF mount metal mount. Even though its made for crop it uses the EF mount and not the EF-S mount. But only the 15-16mm works fine. 11-14mm you can see circular vignette similar to a circualar fisheye.
