(sorry for shaky video, use phone to record coz desktop record will end up recording my 3 monitors and many 'ahhhh...') i made a lot mistake in the video... mini panic attack 1:15 - 2:05 - super-ly, ultra-ly... 2:28 - attached deteach (docked or undocked) 3:56 - from the phone(-camera, not font) Your effort is appreciated |

QUOTE(ohman @ Nov 21 2014, 08:52 AM) Sony bought a huge sum in Oly shares last year edi. It's pretty much a clear cut partnership edi.Personally I'm also digging the new button placement, but still waiting for a rangefinder-style FF... Hopefully it will come one day. At the rate Sony is releasing cameras, it looks like it'll happen sooner rather than later. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Nov 21 2014, 11:54 AM |

Not sure how much of Oly tech went into Sony's 5 axis IBIS, as it's mentioned that Sony IBIS is built independently from the Oly system, but there's a high chance Sony engineers had a good look into the Oly blueprints. Stabilizing a FF sensor surely needs a higher degree of challenges compared to MFT sensors.
Then again, whether it's a collaboration or not, it's a win win situation for consumers. |

please dont speculate wrong info, please use uncle google before simply speculate information.
1) Sony only invested 50billion Yen (around 640m USD that time) into olympus restructuring, which is merely 11% stake share. Sony is still the smallest investor in olympus, but gaining advantage to seal deals like olympus now are using Sony Sensors. 2) during yesterday morning announcement, Sony stated its a full sony design, without any help from other (point at olympus) 3) Sony has been doing this 5 axis for sometime, just that, the acquisition of Olympus share helped then prevent lawsuit. 4) if you read the launching notes, the 5 axis is more advance then oylmpus system, it can hybrid uses with OSS lenses. not to mention supporting the bigger sensor vs m43. side note, having share in olympus allows sony to open their books (blue prints) how much sony refer their 5axis we do not know, but sure is olympus did not collaborate with sony to design this 5 axis. |

personally i'm not really concerned what kinda deal sony and oly have la. as long as consumers benefit something out of it, i'm sure sony's making the right move. how's the a7ii gonna benefit you as a photographer?
