hi guys,
how secure is the new city? are those pedal lock absolutely necessary?
seems to be that it defeats the purpose of having push start when you still need to take out your key to unlock the pedal lock...
understand that it is a deterrent but with keyless entry and start, is it still that easy to duplicate your keys? or is it similar to european cars that it has immobilizer function built in?
I understand that if any thief has an intention of stealing our car, it is as good as gone regardless whatever security we have but i'd like to know without those pedal lock, is it relatively still safe?
Any additional security is deterrent...thieves always choose the easiast target. You want to be the easy target?

If choose pedal lock, don't get those with the start switch wire bypass (the start wire mapped to the lock). Have one in my Inspira...got problem after 3 years, the switch spoiled, can't start car, have to rewire the start button wire directly to the dashboard controllers....my City also installed pedal lock, but my SA recommend not to install those bypass wire type to avoid voiding warranty. Good idea. Physical detterent is enough...this additional bypass wire does nothing but cause problem when it breaks!!!
If can find more stickers like "This car is protected by BLAH BLAH", stick one or two of those on your screen. Fake em. Thieves will think you have additional level of security...(even if you don't)....

But don't plaster 10 stickers like that lar...sure know you are trying to blow water....
