But but but....the new City is not hybrid  unsure.gif
quazacolt memang hardcore, if given a choice maybe he also wanna use 0w-0 laugh.gif
*
engine oil viscosity nothing to do with hybrid or not ma.
if a year 2006ish starting production 1.8l 4 banger engine can use xw20, i'm sure a more recent engine honda can go lighter.

in fact honda's one of the major pusher for lighter viscosity pressuring the SAE (society of automotive engineers) to make it official (which they did) and now only pending for certification programs and what not.

i can't tell what the future holds la, but if the future is 0w0 then i'm totally in for it laugh.gif

Hi Ree73, may I know did u all encounter the same fortune as the official receipt that I posted for the Honda City 2014 issue? Lower arm absorber have loud noise, door for front passenger got rattling sound, rear boot alignment run and gap on front passenger side?

I'm not so worried about the damage being done during warranty period. I'm just worried about excessive wear and tear that will accumulate over the years, and when finally the warranty expires you realize there are all sorts of damage on the engine because of this.

Hopefully Honda knows what they are doing lah

Definitely not ngam for me  ohmy.gif

that is true and i highly agree.

while i'm not using idemitsu/Honda lubricants, i'm fairly sure Honda does know what they are knowing considering overseas have long since practiced lighter viscosity/extended OCI like Honda America/Japan.

you know, Muhrica the land of lawsuits, FC high? kena sue. Maintenance cost high? kena sue.
to curb this, ma use better/modern lighter viscosity EO lo
Engine oil have come a long way in improvement/development after all nod.gif

and depending on how "gentle" you think i drive, the test result is proven already la laugh.gif
http://www.kentchemistry.com/links/Math/ppm.htm
apparently sub 50 in metal ppm is considered decent la (which was disappointing considering how much i spent on lube/additives)

my goal now is to further reduce it to sub 10 ppm on the next OCI/lab report.
already got plans on that, wish me luck icon_rolleyes.gif

racing oil with high friction modifier certainly helps since they deal with temperatures and friction at a very escalated rate compared to daily drivers.

then there's magnetism brows.gif
the cost to DIY is shockingly low haha
free if you don't mind aesthetics, plug out hdd magnets and stick it on your oil filter laugh.gif

just make sure it's secured with tape or something else someone will get damn sour having a hdd magnet flying to their windscreen sweat.gif

can refer http://kakidiy.com/content/magnet-oil-filter-magnetrap/

If you have other premium car such as S class, Veilfire and Porsche Cayenne in your house and now buy another entry level car. They will aims at your small car and make some nice decoration with it. Even your house neighbours is good, I cannot confirm at shopping malls will have this kind of people...

Minor defects got. but I don't think I have serious defects... Thus far no noise, only noise I heard is isolation noise from tyres. and the driver site gap from dashboard.

Hi Ree73, please spare some time to check for me your car condition on the boot trunk near to spare tyre area to see whether got white sealant shown or with paint to it. Thank you.

Hi neko shikacho, I had called Honda Malaysia and they said the white creamy sealant is applicable for all variant of Honda cars without paint on it. I'm totally not understand why Honda cars unable to spray the paint over it to make it look nicer? rclxub.gif
