Now I regret for not paying attention to my Japanese classes in university, I cannot remember those places name at all.
I just got to know my best friend is coming back to Malaysia for good in March, knowing that CNY is in Feb, I only have this month. I plan to visit from 30th Jan to 7th Feb. I know that this thread requires some homework done before can ask for advice here. I'll be back. I plan for Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and back to Tokyo for my flight to KL. I will stay with my friend in Tokyo, the rest will be on my own. Solo trip. |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jan 2 2015, 01:05 AM) But I want to take advantage of free accommodation. Fly in from KL to Osaka on 30th, the explore Osaka and Kyoto until 4th, 4th to 7th/8th in Tokyo. Then back to KL, I think that's pretty OK right? This post has been edited by fruitie: Jan 2 2015, 01:25 AM |

Is it worthwhile to make a day trip to Hakone from Tokyo? Without saying over, maybe just enjoy onsen a bit and have the Mt Fuji view?
Plan to visit this coming June, solo |

QUOTE(yazoo @ Jan 2 2015, 10:54 AM) Are you going to stay somewhere near Kamata after you landed in Haneda ? yes yes. i booked this Freso Inn Kamata hotel d. It was promo time and around RM180.00 per night.I was thinking of booking a hotel near Shinjuku, but got worried that any delay might burn a big hole in my budget by paying midnight surcharge for taxi |

QUOTE(Blast_Cyrus @ Jan 2 2015, 03:33 AM) Is it worthwhile to make a day trip to Hakone from Tokyo? Depends how many days in total you have for Tokyo/Kanto area. For example if you only had 3 days in Tokyo then it might make more sense not to take any day trips. |

Actually i also feel it's not worth it to pay RM300++ for accommodation since I arrive so late! Might as well book one hotel nearer to airport on first nightI was thinking of booking a hotel near Shinjuku, but got worried that any delay might burn a big hole in my budget by paying midnight surcharge for taxi |

I have so many things in my mind now, I'm excited to go but at the same time worried because I'll be alone most of the time and I don't understand Japanese. That kind of feeling really demotivates me. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jan 2 2015, 11:06 AM |

I know Taiwanese are friendly and willing to help if one is lost. I know most of the Japs don't speak English right? In term of those public transports especially subways, road signboards and restaurant, is English version available as well? Yes, I will get the iijmio SIM card that is 2GB and put in my iPad, can tether as well.I plan to take the daily 500 yen bus rides in Kyoto and just afraid I'll get lost. So much of stress now especially traveling alone and by nature I'm not that adventurous to begin with. |
