This deal worth?
*
I'd say it's a little bit on the high side for RRP.

The coupon however does bring it down to the X1 RRP. I believe some patience will pay off, but at 1239, it's not too expensive.

Thanks so much benny888.

You have been a great help!

To echo benny, just flash a KitKat ROM.

The only readily available 4.2.2 ROM is the Western Europe B003 if you ever want it.

Links are all in page 1.

Stay far away from HW products if you are interested in software updates. This is based on my experience using Mate 6.1, X1 n Mate7. Msian versions are often extremely slow to receive updates. Example Mate7 euro n China sets had already 4-5 updates while it is still zero for Msian sets
Consolation their firmware is pretty solid n stable
I had tested latest firmware from Euro on Mate7 n again I am unable to see any significant difference
Don't bother with what other user say about dpi..can never understand what they are complaining about. Is perfectly fine for me
Just flash latest euro version if software update is important but than as said I find it pointless to do so
*
I agree about HW and their updates.

However there is a distinct UI difference when the DPI is switched. For something with such a large screen, you should be seeing more (ie lower dpi) rather than less (higher dpi). Waste of good screen real estate.

Hey all

Looking to get a 7" tablet and really considering this device now due to the neat compact form factor. Second choice is the Asus memopad 7
Primary usage is just for daily internet surfing and watching videos

Is it still a good buy now(1+ year product), probably looking for a used set

Thanks.
*
The screen on the X1 is a lot better than many other 7" phablets.

Connectivity is also superb and better than the Samsungs I have.

I recommend the X1 and used should probably go around 600+

Thanks for the feedback bro.
Do you know what and how's the latest available stock MY firmware? Performance-wise, lags?

I'm not into the flashing stuff. Just wanna use it as it is.
I'm use to iOS's smooth interface btw. Just that there's no JB these days so theres way too many limitations.
*
The stock EMUI interface should be sufficiently iOS-like to suit your taste. Latest is B017 I think, check a few posts back.

If you use the stock launcher and interface, it should be smooth and nice. And since you just want to use it, then it's a totally suitable large-screen consumption device.

So, I guess this thread will be quiet for a while until Lollipop 5.1 comes for Huawei x1 sometimes in August and September.

Even though the kernel source for x1 is released, it is sad that no one is attempting to develop lollipop 5.1 custom roms ahead of Huawei's official Android 5.1 rom for this device.

Well, guess we can enjoy what we have at the moment and can meet up again in this thread sometime in August or September.

Thanks benny888
Thanks joytest
Thanks Djiban

You're welcome. Anyone who has an interest can learn to develop a ROM lol.

hi am planning to get one as an entertainment tablet, just a questions here, does the multitouch is as responsive as ipad?coz i have a lenovo tab2 but its not that responsive when it comes to multi touches especially when playing games ( clash of clans ) for example i use more than 1 finger to deploy troops..hope can have some answer here...btw its abit hard to find 2nd hand in GC
*
I have tried using 2 fingers on several androids...it may be that Android CoC does not support 2 finger swiping for troop placement but ios can.

Otherwise the X1 is fine as a media consumption device.

The general practice with Huawei is "don't expect updates" so far.

If they have it, it's a real bonus. Took them a whole year to release the kernel sources for the X1, by which time the X2 is already out, and developers have lost interest already.

There was a recent article about Huawei's approach, or rather the lack of an approach, to being open and honest. Perhaps it is due to the history of how they were founded.

I like Huawei for their progressiveness on the hardware front, but in my book, they are quite a bit behind even Samsung where updates are concerned.

I bought an X2 case for my X1 since I can't find an X1 case in my local area. From what I've noticed, there are a few external revisions based on X1 design.

- volume keys and power key are interchanged in location
- charging port is moved to the right

Overall, the fit is the same, I just had to remove small portions of the case.
*
They have cases locally for the X2 now?

They stop selling x1 now?
And does x2 have "hide navigation bar" function?

I saw that the Huawei outlet was still selling the X1 in Sunway Putra Mall.

In Malaysia, the model is 7D-501L, the International model. Check your model number.

The model in China is 7D-503L.

How do I use alternative launchers on the EMU? There seems to be a lack of options like Home selection on the Mediapad X1.
*
You can install Nova Launcher or other launchers, but you need to set some option in the default applications section. I believe Mi phones have the same behaviour.

Please help me so I need your help
my phone is stuck at the mediapad logo And does not come up,I can only go to fast mod but i can not get into recovery,I also can not flash it in the usual way(volume up +volume down+power),In Fast mode when I want to flash boot or recovery and system ,It does not allow And writes (The commands not allowed),At this moment i have only fastboot available, what can i do to unbrick the device ?
Please help me so I can solve this problem
*
I think you need to issue some command called "fastboot unlock" or something like that. Or you might need to request an unlock code from the Huawei website by providing your IMEI.

There should be some details in XDA.

I've just noticed something awry with my set. Google Contacts are not displayed on my Contacts from the Phone. Checked the Settings and the only options are Phone and Sim. How do I get this Phone to display Google Contacts?
*
IIRC, there is some patch for this, check page 1.
