Have seen joytest show up in other forums and joined this one because of what he has put out on this phone.
I have the 7D-503L phone that I thought was the international model untill I read the info joytest put out.
Like many new members, I have come in search of advice. Have bricked just about every phone I have ever had.
This one is proving harder than the rest to undue. Most of my older models had a greater following with enough info to get me out of trouble. Right now all I have is fastboot and nothing else. I tried to flash a recovery using TWRP Manager because I managed to get root. Well that was all, after that nothing but the Logo screen that says honor and powered by android. Hoping I can use fastboot to fix the mess. Have tried recovery.img, but still nothing. Does anyone know what I can do or is the an expensive paper weight. Thanks rclxub.gif

Since you can boot into fastboot :

1. Use fastboot flash recovery stock recovery.img  : type in exactly your stock recovery img file name
2. Go and download your firmware - extract it to get dload folder. Copy this dload folder to external SDcard
3. Boot phone into recovery mode and you can restore your firmware from it

This is standard way to restore back all firmware in all the HW phones I'd used to date ( mate 6.1, X1, Mate7)
*
Hi embcall, I am really honored that many international participants came here for X1 information. For fastboot, you will need to use fastboot commands, and benny888 here is a fantastic contributor in Lowyat forum.

Place your recovery.img to your sdcard and use the command that benny provided.

You cannot use the regular SDcard update method because of custom recovery, and you need the stock recovery before you can perform step 2 and 3.

You could try the Russian 4pda forums for stock recovery of the 703L. I only have the 701L.

Otherwise, could other forum members who have rooted 703L install Flashify and create a backup of the stock recovery and post a link here?

Seems like I already tried this. Sorry to say nothing happened and I used the newest full update. Extracted all and fastbooted fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. Now let me try it with command [/d]. Thanks

If you have a locked bootloader you *may* not be able to perform a fastboot flash....

The 501L bootloader is unlocked after the 4.4.2 ROMs, but I think the 503L bootloaders should be unlocked by default.

Were you running adb shell from your PC ?

Yes I was running running adb shell on my PC and the fastboot screen on the phone shows unlocked. Have not tried anything since last post. Been tring to read up as much as possible, but will try tonight.
*
You need to place the img file in the same folder as where your adb shell path is on the PC IIRC, or on the root of the sdcard, but I think you can't access the sdcard now so PC folder seems the only option.

If what happened last year to the X1 is similarly applicable, expect China availability sometime in May, and Asia perhaps in June, then rest of the world later.

Hi Guys

I have sold my Note 8.0 due to its poor screen quality. Any idea if we compare Mediapad X1 Screen quality with Note 8.0 as I'm planning to get Mediapad X1. I have seen that the battery and camera is much better on MP 1. Any other plus points that you guys might want to add? smile.gif
*
The screen on the X1 is DEFINITELY better than the grainy 1280x800 on the Note8.

However for Penang you might have to check around, or perhaps ship from SatuGadget or DirectD.

It's 4.4.2 version B012. Wait a couple of days otherwise download from either the Huawei Germany or Malaysia site.

QUOTE(silverwolf0 @ Mar 17 2015, 12:47 AM)
Hello. I am trying to decide between mediapad x1 and x2. I see almost no difference between the x1 and x2 except for the processor. The size and design and battery and camera and screen spec seem all the same. Do you think the camera is any better on the x2 than the x1? What about screen? Or did they just use the old parts from x1?

If everything else exactly the same except for processor, I would rather buy x1 since it is cheap and out right now. x2 won't come out til May? and be more expensive.

I also have a few questions about x1. I have hard time finding good reviews. How good is the camera? Is it better/worse than Galaxy S4 camera? Also, how fast is the old kirin 910? I mean day to day usage, not benchmark since I know it bad in benchmark. With latest software update, is it as fast as snapdragon 800/801? I know raw power snapdragon much better, but for web browsing and simple apps, about the same speed?
*
Welcome.

The screen on the X1 is very good in terms of clarity and sharpness, so I don't think re-using the X1 screen on the X2 is a problem.

As to camera, don't hope for a good camera on ANY tablet. It works, takes reasonable pics, has some digital image stabilization.

In terms of day-to-day usage, it's fine, although some stuttering is noticeable (I'm using Nova launcher) but I have read that using its stock Emotion UI is good performance.

Watching videos, web surfing, reading ebooks and casual gaming are totally fine on the X1. I can even play Clash of Clans for about 3.5hours, which is far longer than any phone tongue.gif

It is expected that the top range X2 will go for about RMB2999, which is approx USD450-500 depending on the exchange rate.

The X1 can probably be gotten for about USD300 or less.

BTW what country are you from?

QUOTE(robchongke @ Mar 17 2015, 01:37 AM)
how can we add font to our X1? thanks
*
If you are rooted, you can use iFont. If you are not rooted, I don't think you can.

That is very old firmware n is not 4.4.4
Look for B102

That is the Malaysia R002 B008, which is 4.4.2, and after some time it should prompt you to update to B102.

There aren't enough changes in the x2 to make me sell my x1 and buy it. Maybe when the next tablet comes out. Is there still no permanent solution to writing to the SD card?
*
The SD card issue is caused by Google, introduced in KitKat, and the OEMs are just making workarounds for it in their ROMs. Ostensibly it's for security and the users' own good.

Unfortunately without rooting and installing the sdfix patch, 3rd party apps still CAN'T write to SDcard natively.

7D-503L is the China LTE version

7D-501u is the China 3G version

Recommend you get the LTE version. Exceptional 4G performance, better than Note3 and Note4.

The version sold by Huawei Malaysia is the 7D-501L International version but ROM updates are slower.

Oh, from the description

Factory model -      7D-501u
Phone type        -      3G & 4G Tablet Phone

So apparently that '4G' is not compatible with MY's LTE band?
Normally you guys here get the phone from the local store or online? smile.gif
*
IF it is the 501u, there is NO 4G modem inside. You will never get 4G.

I got mine from 1Gadget, 501L. You could check with Huawei stores, it should be RRP 1299.

Any warranty claims will also be easier.

Oh, then the product description posted in that ad is very misleading. Thought dialoghub is an established AP reseller.

Can't find this in the Online Huawei Store eh bro.
*
Sometimes the sellers don't even know what they're selling tongue.gif

Hmm...I don't know why Huawei wasn't actively promoting the X1...it is/was the best device in its class.

Similary the original Mediapad was also the best device in its class for the time, yet Huawei internal categorisation prevented the Mediapad's marketing and promotion.

Probably you will have to take a trip to LYP's Huawei outlet, or other Huawei retail locations.

I did not bro. However, I've just flashed the German firmware and currently on B103. smile.gif

Just want to ask you guys is there any capacitive stylus similar to Samsung S Pen that can be used on MX1? I'm used to crop images from websites, facebooks and etc for record and to forward it thru whatsapp. If a capacitive  Stylus which is similar to S Pen is available it would be good
*
The jot pro or jot mini works very well with the screen. You can write accurately but slowly. Cropping should not be a problem.

I've found that the normal soft capacitive styli do not provide a good tactile response nor are they accurate.

My machine code 7D-501L.

4G and LTE are taken to mean the same thing. It is just differently displayed in different regions.

Me too. I already find 5.7" on the Note4 limiting lol.

If I didn't already have the 8.4" Tab S, I might take the P8Max.

Sadly, battery life is crap compared to X1.

However, I think age is catching up with me. I can discern that there is a real difference in watching stuff on 7" vs 8.4".

I get eyestrain quite fast nowadays, so that's why I switched to a larger screened device.

One side effect is that my side pouch has gotten larger lol but luckily it still hangs well on my belt.

Hi,
I just bought a HP slate ultra in Singapore for $299, it comes with original screen guard and cover. I went to updates and found that a update to 4.4.2 was ready to be upgraded. Is it worth it to upgrade as I would like to keep photos and extra apps on the sd card. I took a screen shot of my phone .[attachmentid=4427133][attachmentid=4427135]
Is the basic 4.2.2 the same as m1.
Thanks
*
Skip it and back up your stuff first if you are afraid of losing it.

95+% of people never perform backups and cry later. Sad but true.

No real difference unless you intend to get an Android Wear device. Android Wear is only supported on 4.3 and later.

As long as you're happy with 4.2.2 you can stay with it.

Make sure you backup regularly.
