It looks like my bootloader is locked as it does not show the green UNLOCKED text from uncle Benny's screenshots. I cannot execute fastboot commands.

I'm also updating to 4.4.2 tonight....fingers crossed.

TiBu done, CWM done, Nova backup done. Let's see how it goes.

Crap. R002B008 will not boot normally due to the changed recovery which I installed.

Reverting to stock recovery via Flashify and see if it works that way.

UPDATE:

Stock 4.2.2 recovery allows the update to proceed. Next on to rooting and restoring.

Rooted with VRoot 1.7.9. It installed a bunch of Chinese root helper apps. Didn't use them. Installed SuperSU, which asked to remove those Chinese root apps to avoid conflict. Then installed Busybox.

Done B008, after flash Rom complete, I use cmd n fastboot.exe to flash recovery.img, Fastboot.img everting work now.  biggrin.gif
*
Why would you do that? After the ROM is flashed, it already contains Recovery and Fastboot within the update.app

Did you flash from a different version ?

For some reason I cannot access Fastboot now.

BTW All,

Did anyone get Xposed working? The old trick of ro.config.hwtheme = 0 does not work and Xposed won't install.

UPDATE: OK saw you updated and flashed different ROM versions.

And now my fastboot is showing Device Unlocked !!!! Yeah !!!

Anyone now flashing the CWM 6.0.4.7 ?

*
Yes everything is bigger and it is in "phone" mode not "tablet" as some have stated in xda. It's ok for me still.

You need to edit the system r/w files than only install the mod. Proceed with install framework. If you didn't edit the system files you will see error message unable to write. However only certain app seem unable to work saying xposed not installed eg intelli3g. Greenify pro works with it
*
You mean make /system as rw ? I did that. It said copied successfully. But after reboot, it still says not installed.

Did you change anything else?

Lenovo has a habit of no sd slot. Otherwise a nice device.

Mate7 will also be a good choice.

Hi all senior,

I'm totally newbie,I want to ask something about mediapad x1,why my mediapad always encounter "unwanted remove sdcard" after few minutes off. Can u share which post need me follow to prevent this problem come again.

Really appreciate ur help..thanks
*
Your sdcard is probably going to die. Please back up all your stuff first and run a test on it with Windows.

Hi benny. But tr official charger can charge the phone from zero to full in around 2 hours.bubut i tried wif ipad charger n cant achieve the same results. This. is frustrating.
*
I think I know your problem.

When you plug in to charge, please check the Battery setting if it is charging as USB or AC. You need to see that it reads as AC. The X1 is a little picky about the cable and charger combination.

You need to try out various cable and charger combinations until you get it showing as AC.

I've tried on Samsung cables rated at 1800 GCC on my Note 3, they show as USB charging on the X1.

You either need some kind of converter that shorts the data pins or find a cable that has already shorted it internally. Or you get some kind of smart charger that can detect the voltage needed by the X1 and fools it to think that it can pull AC.

Some thoughts after about 10 days of KitKat on B008.

I don't feel that it's any different, except that CoC displays in Phone mode with large graphics in the selection menus. This is probably due to 400dpi setting. I also read somewhere that Google disabled Tablet mode by default and you can enable it again via some tweak.

The most visible thing I noticed is that Chrome browser is now able to zoom links when I hover my finger over it. It couldn't do so before even when the Hover setting was on.

Touch sensitivity is also improved, and Glove mode is now a visible setting.

With CWM now working on 4.4.2, the only thing I'm missing is Xposed.

I just can't get it to work.

Some have complained about network signal etc on XDA but I don't face any such issue.

any other known major or common issues about this device? If i getting this device, can the firmware be updated thru OTA? anyone know if this device will support future update/support such as Android L 5.0? Very tempted to get it soon. tongue.gif

OTA yes to 4.4.2. Even if you do it manually it is incredibly simple. Just put the folder on sdcard and reboot.

16gb 0nly. So far 1 guy reported a speaker problem I think, and maybe 1 sdcard slot problem.

Apart from that, it's a great device with all day battery.

One fellow on XDA did a compile of TWRP for 4.2.2, so more may be coming.

I never had such wifi n 3g/LTE problems on my X1 ( on German, Taiwan and latest M'sian Kitkat )
It could be hardware issues if you faced such problems. Why don't you send in your unit to check ?

I had just flash latest SuperSU 2.13 using the CWM recovery ( posted by joytest)
