Thank you very much uncle benny
Finally i succeed

after succeed rooting, I do JOYTEST first page instructions to hiding navigation bar, but local.prop file permissions change denied and remained on -rw-r--r--.
First i try to mount /system folder, but maybe /data/cuse/prop/... folder must be mounted to access file permissions ????
*
Try using ES File Explorer or Solid Explorer. They can change permissions.

Hi all, lively discussion for KitKat.

I was told that the Huawei MY FB site is flooded with unhappy users not getting KK for the X1, but it looks like a Mr. Lim Chin Wee is the one raising hell. Anyone from here?

https://www.facebook.com/HuaweiDeviceMY/pho...otal_comments=3

Still, Huawei should just release the damned fw since it is already available for 503L and 501L Europe.

HuaweiDeviceMY are you listening to your users?

In all honesty, the fitness for purpose of the X1, or any other smartphone for that matter, is not detracted even though there is no update.

It is only because we are actually dealing with a powerful computing device which can be improved via updates that we users as a whole have come to expect updates.

In fact, IMHO, computing devices should ALWAYS be hackable.

If this is true, f*** you Huawei.. Sorry for the word, I use it when I'm really pissed off.. Purposely don't release update, why would u do that?
*
Well, probably their current batch for MY is loaded with B005.

I do agree Huawei needs a collective "f*** you" for not being transparent about ROM updates, especially for a near-perfect device like the X1.

They should at least release B006 like Taiwan.

mgyun is the parent page of Vroot. Why would it have a virus? It is only branded as "malicious" because of the behaviour.

I find the facebook page more suspicious.

You going for ip6+ as well?

For those getting ipongs later on, do share your experiences briefly for comparison.

Fruitco may have a hit with them but it's the same walled garden which is incredibly restrictive.

I've been playing Star Horizon on the X1, still on B003 firmware, without any problems or lag. Beautiful 3D space flight arcade in the vein of Galaxy on Fire.

sure,it's same file already downloaded and failed to install "Huawei_MediaPad_X1_7D-501L_V100R001C129B111_Android_4.4.rar"

This is the MD5 signature for the file I downloaded.

Huawei_MediaPad_X1_7D-501L_V100R001C129B111_Android_4.4.rar
DDB29DF6ABBA774D00FEB09B5A3FB259

What is yours?

If it is identical, then this means that the file we both downloaded is the same and will not work on the 501L.

Hi all, I was checking out Android-hilfe, and it seems that a CWM is posted, but my smattering of German indicates that you flash it via an app called Flashify. Google Translate didn't help much.

Here is the link to the CWM IMG
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-custom-ro...1-download.html

It says the whole menu is in Chinese.

And while trawling thru Huafans site, someone did a custom ROM for the 503L. Anyone up for trying it?

And uncle benny benny888 this post from HWZone is flattering. Thanks for pointing them here.

All, I want to report successfully flashing CWM from the Android-hilfe site. It seems to be a download from Huafans, using 6.0.47 built on 2014-03-21.

It includes ADB sideload functionality as well....this is simply fantastic.

The only drawback is that my Chinese is half past six whistling.gif

I installed it using Flashify from the Playstore. Incredibly easy.

Rebooted to Recovery

Flash from Zip

Run ADB sideload + Advanced Functions

Running backup

The backup is stored in /yoursdcardlocation/clockworkmod/backup/yyyy-mm-dd.hh.mm.ss

Local and parallel import units are all 16Gb. A 32Gb model was planned but I don't know if it's available.

Just in case anyone wants to change the default system language from Chinese to something else,

post by green-08 on 4PDA.ru
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=5...0#entry31787104

Lines in the file /cust/channel/charm_china_u/prop/local.prop

CODE
persist.sys.language=zh
persist.sys.country=CN
ro.product.locale.language=zh
ro.product.locale.region=CN

In place of CN and zh, is changed to EN and en, reboot.

You can install Notification Toggles which has an option to toggle advanced reboot into Recovery, Bootloader etc. Or use Quick Boot by SiriusApps or similar apps.
