Best to send it in to a Huawei center. They have one behind Amcorp Mall in PJ, not sure about other locations.

However, the screen might not be worthwhile to fix although you could ask the price.

I am still using 7D-501L

Thanks to do many here who have shared their problems and solutions.

Recently, while waiting for the final version of Android 5.1.1 or marsh mellow, I've flashed my x1 to the latest rom from Taiwan, (B013 7D-501L). It is a nice rom.

Unfortunately, unlike the B017 Malaysian Rom, the LATEST Taiwan rom doesn't allow me to install xposed framework.

I'm wondering if the B011 7D-503L rom that has been popular, allows users to install xposed framework.

I find xposed framework useful because I can use
One handed mode module
Application settings module
Gesture navigation module.

Need some ideas about how to either install xposed into the B013 or should I reflash and convert it with a rom (B011?) if it is more compatible with xposed framework.

But it is also ashame to loose the latest B013 from Taiwan. Have anyone tried the B013? Love how the beautiful set of wall papers of the lock screen keeps changing when the device goes to sleep.

Anyone here experienced both the B013 7D-501L and the B011 7D-501U (or another option if I remember - the Kang B011) and how compatible are they with xposed framework?

I did find the location for the local.prop in the B013 rom and there is a line

ro.config.hwtheme=2 ??? (What happens if I set it to 0? Will it allow me to install xposed framework?

In the case of the Malaysian rom (B017), by adding

ro.config.hw_shownavisettings=true

In the local.prop

I could get the navigation bar to have a hiding feature but it didn't work with the B013 rom.

I might be tempted to try the beta Android 5.1.1 because it seems that xposed framework now works with lollipop.

For a 7 inch phablet,

Niwatori - One Handed Mode module

An module used with xposed framework can be very handy. I could double tap on the navigation bar and the dialer would shrink to a smaller screen size at the right hand side of my 7 inch screen. This makes it possible for me to use one hand and dial numbers on the keypad.

After spending a few hours of reading, I must say that my hope for xposed framework to work with x1 is shot down.

It seems that it is emui 3 that is preventing xpose from being installed or to work properly.

Therefore, it doesn't matter if it is B011 or B013 or B113 (Android 5.1.1)

Therefore, if I want to use xposed, I have no choice but to downgrade to EMUI 2.x

sad .... sad .... sad

Good hardware but must be tied to emui.

At one time, I almost wanted to sell x1 and get an 8 inch tablet together with a 5.5 inch phone. But the hardware of x1 with its big battery and all that changed my mind.

Now, this problem of having to chose emui and forget about enjoying the benefits of xposed is .......

Well, use Nova launcher ? Never did like the fawning over that other platform which the Chinese OEMs are very fond of.

Problem is even if we use a different launcher, i think the settings is tied to the EMUI Huawei theme.

I don't know yet but I think if i set the local.prop

ro.config.hwtheme=2 to
ro.config.hwtheme=0

i might have problems with launching "settings"

I don't have the courage to try it out because to have access to "settings" pages is very important .

Unless I can install cwm recovery or even better twrp recovery, I don't have the courage to meddle with the local prop. If I have the twrp recovery, I can at least go into the recovery and mount a partition that can be read by my laptop in order to undo any changes when something goes wrong.

TWRP recovery has a built in file manager whereas cwm recovery doesn't have a file manager. Both can mount partitions which I wonder if the partition can then be detected and read on a windows or linux laptop.

Right now I only have the huawei v.1 emui recovery. Unfortunately for me I can't read chinese and it is hard to find an english translation of the emui recovery.

There are only 5 buttons.

First one is = reboot into system (this I know because after entering the emui recovery, I have no choice but to click the first button.

Second might be for flashing a local file.

Third has an English word 'cache' so most probably it is to wipe cache partition and dalvic.

Fourth button I really don't know.

Fifth button has 'OTA' so it might be for flashing over the air.

I used Taiwan B008 with EMUI 2.x and some Xposed Modules work including Adblocker.

For Taiwan B013 with EMUI 3.0, I use full!screen and Immersive Mode. Both apps have pros and cons on EMUI 3.0. full!screen temporarily removes the wallpaper upon turning it on (bug), reboot retains the wallpaper. Immersive mode on the other hand only hides the navbar and prevents the keyboard to launch when the app is on.

I'm using B013 EMUI 3.0 and I like the Application Display Effect function (customizable DPI per app). Though I experience both mobile and wifi drops with this rom version compared to B008, maybe mine is an isolated case. Pressing Airplane mode solves it.

Have you checked for lockscreen wallpaper changer apps yet?

i don't know what or where is the app that is causing the lock-screen wallpapers to change.

I can't even find the folder where all the lovely wallpapers are located.

How did you manage to install xposed framework on B13 Taiwan. I tried several but the install buttons were grayed out. And there is a message saying something about not yet compatible ....

In B017 Malaysian rom, I could install xposed framework although not every module worked.

B017 was using EMUI 2.x. It appears that the higher the EMUI version is the more it prevents xposed framework from being installed or to run smoothly.

So, the hard decision is to go with emui 3 or downgrade ...

But, if i am not wrong, it seems that the Kang B011 custom rom with emui 3 is a bit more friendly to the xposed framework. But to install the Kang, we will have to convert 501L to 503L.

I do not know if anyone has compared the Kang B011 custom rom with the B013 Taiwan latest ROM. If anyone has experienced these 2 roms, it will be nice to have some feedback.

Hi everyone.

One user managed to install an alpha version of Xposed on EMUI 3 (lollipop os), once smile.gif. Give it a try on your EMUI3 ROM:

I am back to B017 malaysian rom for 501L.

Xposed is installed and one handed mode worked.

Will wait for the final version of Lollipop (Android 5.1.1/Emui 3.1) before deciding whether to upgrade. After upgrading, will again check with the compatibility of xposed with emui 3.1 before deciding whether to keep Android 5.1.1 or downgrade to Android 4.4.x

Besides the X2, i really cannot find another worthy 7 inches or 8 inches Phablet to replace the X1.

It is hard to find a replacement for the X1.
In terms of light weight, big screen size, speed performance, the Lenovo tab S8 or the Asus memopad 8 are nice but I know that I will never be satisfied with the Battery and camera as compared to the X1.

Xperia Z Ultra might be the only one on par with the X1 but I suspect that the battery life will not be as good as the X1. And I am not a fan of the bravia engine, Sony uses for their camera.

Lenovo Phab Plus is more heavy in weight than the X1. for a 7 inch, the device must be lighter than the X1 to get my attention. Yet, it must not compromise with good battery. Until now, the X1 with its hardware configuration and design is still the winner ... that is if we are not concern for too high speed and cpu performance.

Want to sell also don't know what to buy. So, i will just keep the X1
