after my reply asking for taobao agent, so many people PM and approach me. all gives different quotation price with different currency rate but how the procedure is? transfer the money to em and just wait for the item to reach us? any case of untrusted agent and such? sad.gif

with TaoBao agents, yes, its very much a matter of trust. if you've got a regular agent, then should be quite safe.

but if you don't... its a risk only you know if its worth taking.

Root cause:  i suspect its Google apps/service i disabled.  I disable apps that i dun use at all (to avoid the update notice).  i disable Google Play Music, Play books, Play Newstand, Play Games & Google+.  Gallery decide to stop working.  I have enable all and Gallery is fine now.  Next, super scientific deduction method to see which of the apps is the culprit.

p.s. apasal i feel like i am talking to myself here?
*
i recall doing that as well on my Note and i got that. but sadly, can't recall the apps that i had disabled. i think i googled and got the answer. it was much quicker...

edit 1:
i think its Paper Artist. at least that's the one that caused by crash.

actually what other ppls put inside the phone?
movie?? anime?? hmm.gif  hmm.gif

for me... lots of photos, some games like FF, they fill up quite fast on my 32GB note 2. I have 64gb card for movies, etc... something to watch on the go.

plus, with Google going to push ART soon, if I recall, it'll take up more space than Dalvik.

Yes, China OPO sell to retail shop, then retail shop sell to others also need to earn mah...There's 2 layers of markups included, not to mention the 3rd layer when shops like Directd brings them in to sell to you. Actually I know the supplier for the shops, they only earn RM50 from the cost and this includes local warranty.
*
yup, China sales is via resellers. so prices will be slightly higher than say, USA price.

unless like what DannyOP say... know reseller and get them to sell you at cost.

good to know DirectD price going down. since officially not abdicate in Malaysia, getting from them might be good since they have their own warranty.

china oneplus official site now can que to buy, rmb2300 for 64gb
assuming they can get the rate 1.90
so is around RM1210
plus shipping RM40 so total rm1250.

rm1499 - rm1250 = rm250 profit but u have to provide post sale service.
*
was doing quick calculations. if buy from USA (using forwarding company) and then send it back to Malaysia via DHL, FedEx, it'll come to around rm1.4k. so, rm1499 is good deal, especially if DirectD can provide their 2 years warranty.

I think we might need to start categorize owner list with storage ( 16/64 ), color and source of seller ( local/China/Oversea ), so we able to distinguish better on ownership details, if OP agreed on this  biggrin.gif
I sense OnePlus One community will be growing fast, with local resellers start selling and price keep dropping.
*
I was thinking no need to distinguish since OnePlus trying to make things with minimal SKU. plus, ROM/ OS works on basically all models. so we're one big family.

and yes, local dealer price is quite good considering it's not that much when you calculate shipping cost from overseas back Malaysia. plus, they are usually giving 2 years warranty.

if anyone follow OnePlus forum, OnePlus isn't really doing good job with warranty claims. some are saying OnePlus is charging fees for some claims, others have said OnePlus allowing only one time claims.

I've bought a free stuffs from directd and so far, they've been good (though not much personal attention since they are so dem busy all the time). as long as commit to buying the phone, they let us open box and check thoroughly. imho, better than what OnePlus is doing at the moment.

lastly... if wanna wait for official availability, at the rate of their improvements in customer service and also phone production, I'd say maybe Q4 or longer.

did further digging, the china version will work fine as far as lte is concerned, however if you're on maxis or celcom (i think)... wcdma only the 2100 band is supported. 900 is missing. not an expert..but will this render 3g signal to be limited? i tried googling but didnt get a proper answer.
*
err, seriously.... did you try checking page 1? got a table to make it easy to understand...

I really don't understand why ppl don't want that China version and want the international version?!
because of the back cover?

for warranty claim it is still the same, u still have to post back to oversea to claim warranty even though ur's is international version.
*
I was thinking about this too... one possibility...

as OnePlus One in China is via distributor, could be that the distributor will also be responsible for warranty claims and services (sorry but not able to check the Chinese website to find out how they handle warranty).

if the above is true, then when OnePlus One is officially available in Malaysia, Chinese sets may still need to go back to the Chinese distributors. I think in the past, legit sets (other brands) could be from different distributor, so different company to claim from, etc... so it could be one possibility.

Would like to ask if anyone manage to get an International 64GB unit here which is from invite instead of buying from re-seller? Would like to know how much of difference in price if we're able to get it here officially...
*
hmm... did you check the last few pages? nightfelix posted his order details, including price. then just do usd to rm conversion la...

but if you don't have anyone bringing the device in for you, then probably need to add about rm100+ for shipping from USA Malaysia.

if you add that all in, as someonesim said, better just buy from local resellers. slightly more expensive, but can check unit, get local warranty, etc...

p/s: I have away my invite as I decided to just get locally.

Buy power meter
My mom's Note 2 charger koyak in Day 3. Same symptom.  doh.gif
I only trust fruit charger. It is costly but they really put an effort into designing the internals.

my experience with Samsung chargers have not been good. hissing sound, low amp (using GCC to check). I ended up getting some cheap but good Chinese chargers.

been wanting to try iPad chargers. anyone knows typically how much and where I can get them?

one thing I noticed about those chargers that you plug a usb cable... sometimes the cable quality also causes issues. example: my power bank can output 2A. but using old cables (bought from LYN sellers), can't get even 1A. but when I used the mi power bank cable (flat one), I can get 1.8A.

Yeah, just saw that but was trying to get an accurate figure of the shipping cost to M'sia...
And why i'm planning to get from OnePlus instead of re-seller as there might be some minor hardware update which i heard on Android Authority unboxing, around 5:50 mark...
OnePlus One Unboxing
*
honestly, I'm still not really sure if there's actually any hardware difference. but I do know that the Chinese version will have some network band issues if you're using in USA. can that be controlled by software, I honestly have no idea.

just to share... I was on the same boat as you, but in the end, decided to just buy locally. if you read some of the complaints in the official forum (including being charged a fee for warranty), personally, I think I'm better off getting locally. but... I guess so far I've been lucky and never had issues with my AP sets (other phones).

based on my own calculations which includes using forwarder to send to Malaysia, it's about rm1.4... local sellers... about rm1.5.. done said directd just dropped price again.

slightly off topic...

personally, I don't really like what I've done on page 1. feel free to suggest which thread and TS I can check with for better formatting.

and I guess I prefer to keep things simple and easy. anyone getting a OnePlus One phone is likely to be techie anyway... coz regular users... they are usually wary of new brands, especially Chinese ones.

I'll need sometime to update page 1. busy with some personal stuffs... smile.gif

i'm planning the same too. i guess open the box just make sure no scratch and dents, turn the opo on, check for the infamous yellow tint issue (if there is), and if everything working fine, just pay! hehe
remember 2 year warranty from directD covers only 1 month for LCD display while 24months cover only the software..........

whats teh current price for 64gb now in DD?
*
I recall their two years is basically the transmitter or sth like that... maybe motherboard.
