What understand from inside source that Nasim do keep more stock then other which could be sufficient for 2 year car for just 408. What I hear from last year, after manufacture they normally keep for 6 month (Gurun,Kedah hot sun). But recently saw there is increase sales on 408, I think should not be that long.

For all part 5 year warranty claim, as I know 1 of the part the rubber host for the turbo host is not under warranty. The cost of the rubber host is RM500. (Source from the Peugeot Club Member which have change). So have to keep and eye on that stuff..

Thanks a lot for the explanation you gave Eugene.
Some cars which are fitted with tyres dated 1-2years gives us the picture.
Anyone here has a 1.6T Griffe here?

Hi all..

I just got my 408 1.6T yesterday morning (second hand, 2012).. I realized there are few problems that took my attention..

(1) Firstly.. the clock and date on the dashboard has been constantly blinking.. and it is not even on the correct date..

(2) This car comes with the touch screen but the reverse camera and GPS are unusable currently.. dealer promised to bring it to Glenmarie for service and repair..

(3) Also.. the bluetooth connection for my iPhone 6 has been rather unsucessful.. I paired it correctly, but the songs just wouldnt play.. It started loading in my phone book and what not, but just not playing the song..

In regards to the above matter, can any sifu or peugeot fanatic give me some insight and help?

Thanks guys and the drive has been a pleasure. I am in love with this car!

I have been given an appointment with Glenmarie soon to rectify the above problems. I requested for a new car but was rejected.

In the meantime, I have filed a case with the Consumer Tribunal against the dealer and the case will be mentioned on 12/3/2015. My argument is the car should not have been allocated to me in the first place. It does not pass the test of a new car though the car is considered new by the dealer as it was not used before.

So now just wait and see what happens.

Hi Skyjack.

Will definetely keep you updated.

But i must say its a fantastic car. No regrets. But should have bought it elsewhere especially from Naza Branch. The dealer gave a better discount but to think of it i would rather pay more but less headache. The paint defects i am very sure was caused by the dealer while polishing. Glenmarie Clic have been helpful.

Yes it is truly a wonderful car. Mine coming up to 3 years,am enjoying it every time i take her out. Fortunately all this time I needed to make only one warranty claim - faulty coolant temp sensor.

In your case, as you said it not the car, but rather a dodgy dealer. I guess there's a lesson here for all of us, when something is very cheap, be careful of hidden surprise!

Dear Skyjack,

My pug (408 TE)gave a probz recently.. sad.gif . I was at cameron highlands reaching almost the top and ther was a bad trafic hardly cars moving and my car was like on a steep road. suddenly my car starts jerking and the rpm was slowly dropping below 1K. When i rev in N position, it doesnt go above 1.2k but keeps dropping and eventually car engine stopped.  cry.gif
Start back the engine, and tried to rev and stil same problem. tried doing several times and then engine fault appeared and said repair needed. Then I start again and shift to D and drive slowly up and it was jerkig badly until i came to a flat surface road and the problem just disappears with engine light still there. after I stop and start the engine again, engine fault disappears. anyone faced this problem? Any advise? what could be the possible fault?
Thanks in advance

Hello Skyjack,

i encountered the same issue earlier while heading up to Genting. Engine Check appeared and repair needed popped up on the screen.
Eventually it went off, as i let it cool down for a bit and also did reset the ECU & GearBox.
Did u manage to get the problem solved? Did the SC change any parts? Was it the air sensor / fuel pump? or left it as it is? can you pls advice.
I also noticed another Peugoet 408 T, which is quite new from the number plate on a tow truck.

Hi BlackLion
I believe speedysam's problem has been solved. It was a faulty h/p fuel pump. This seems a common problem. Btw the h/p pump on this model has been redesigned to be more robust. I guess it needs better QC during manufacture.

Hi guys,

Does any of your 408 smells like crayon? My does. It stinks so bad during drives and it even gave me headache if I were to be in the car for a longer time. My air cond also seems to be faulty. It heats up quickly if the car is not moving. Anyone else experiencing this? ohmy.gif

Dear BlackLion,

The cause of it was the high pressure fuel pump faulty. they have changed it. But yet to test drive it at steep slopes.

Hi Guys, i'm in the market to buy new tyres. I'm trying to find a combo of good wet grip plus good rolling resistance. It seem to me, from UK michellin website, base on the new EU labelling regulation that PS3 225/45 17 tyre ranked very low in the rolling resistance department but very good in term of wet grip. Anyone could suggest me, any other tyre that give at least B grade for both wet grip and rolling resistance in its EU labelling, if any...
