Hi all..

I just got my 408 1.6T yesterday morning (second hand, 2012).. I realized there are few problems that took my attention..


(1) Firstly.. the clock and date on the dashboard has been constantly blinking.. and it is not even on the correct date..

(2) This car comes with the touch screen but the reverse camera and GPS are unusable currently.. dealer promised to bring it to Glenmarie for service and repair..

(3) Also.. the bluetooth connection for my iPhone 6 has been rather unsucessful.. I paired it correctly, but the songs just wouldnt play.. It started loading in my phone book and what not, but just not playing the song..


In regards to the above matter, can any sifu or peugeot fanatic give me some insight and help?

Does any of your 408 smells like crayon? My does. It stinks so bad during drives and it even gave me headache if I were to be in the car for a longer time. My air cond also seems to be faulty. It heats up quickly if the car is not moving. Anyone else experiencing this?

My car also experiencing squeky brakes, floaty ride, and smelly aircond... The aircond i tried servicing at the Setia Alam's SC but they say they changed the filter should be okay.. but after a whole week the smell still persist.. can't figure out what is going on.. Bringing the car to Glenmarie this coming week hopefully they have an answer to this..

I went to Setia Alam SC last month for my 50K major service which cost me about 2.4k.. I mentioned to them my aircond is faulty as it is terribly hot and some weird odor has been lingering in the car. The person in charged of my car service told me the gas level is sufficient and the air filter is ok, so there is no need to worry.. but, the air cond is still hot as hell. I couldn't take it anymore i brought my car to my own air cond servicing mechanic, and they found out the gas level is way too low and the weird odor might possibly come from the lack of gas or leakage of gas. After pumping in the gas, the air cond is fixed. It is no longer hot. However, merely 3 weeks into the gas pumping, the air cond is not cold again. Brought back to the mechanic and they told me cooling coil might be busted, and to fix it will cost me 4k. Fortunately my warranty still alive and just only I brought to glenmarie SC to get it diagnosed and repaired.

I believe the car still has the weird odor lingering around even after fixing the cooling coil. It could be the previous owner of the car (I bought it second hand) smoked inside the car for an extended period of time which caused the leather to soaked in the cigarette smell. Any brother or sister know where can I get my leather cleaned at a reasonable price? Thanks alot.

Just my really horrible experience with the overall SC experience with Peugeot and would like some advise from brothers and sisters who are enjoying our Lion.


I bought a second hand 408T during this year CNY, about February 2015. Everything was awesome with some issues lingering around such as air cond not cold and weird smell in the car, everything else was okay.. As I saw the service is supposed to be done on October 2014 but the agent did not went for the service, I quickly brought my car to the SC. As it was my first time owning a Lion, i did not know I need to make an appointment for servicing.. so I called and they told me it is going to take a month only reach my turn.. So, instead of going to the Blue Box in glenmarie, I decided to bring it a try to the Setia Alam SC as it only requires 2 days in advanced appointment. When I brought it over, they told me my extended warranty could be voided, but I told them it wasn't my fault as I bought it that time, I even checked with Peugeot and they told me its okay because it was previous owner's fault. So happily I told the Setia Alam SC the problem that I was facing such as air cond not cold and weird odor, then they promised me they will be fixing it. When I go and collect my car, they told me they fixed it already. They say the gas was enough and no need to add more, and sure cold already now, and they changed the cabin filter already sure no smell now. BUT! The moment I switched on the car, everything was the same. I paid RM2500++ for the service, everything still same! I asked the person in charge what was going on, they say give the car few days the smell and air cond sure okay edi. I waited a week still the same. Tak boleh tahan, I brought my car to an external aircond servicing shop, in 5 sec the mechanic told me gas langsung not enough, and the cabin filter is so dirty. So I say nvm cabin filter I change it with SC next time, but add gas first. After adding gas, immediately air cond cold already. Tak boleh lah the Setia Alam SC, tak boleh kerja punya. Lied to me that gas was enough and after few days the aircond will be cold. The fact that I trusted them also make me feel super stupid.

Fast forward till May 2015, I realized the air cond again is not cold already. I suspected cooling coil busted so brought the car to Glenmarie (because I don't trust Setia Alam anymore) for emergency diagnosis. They took the car, 1 day later called me and say the O-Ring loose already, nothing wrong with cooling coil. So they fixed the O-Ring and settled, the air cond is back in action.

Fast forward again till last week, 13/8/2015, I realized some noise coming out from the aircond there again. This time I super scared, cus it sounds like the compressor got some problem already. Finally today I am free, 18/8/2015, I brought my car to Glenmarie again to diagnose, mana tau they say need to leave my car there 3 days for DIAGNOSIS only, repair haven't include. Nvm, I just check with them if repair compressor or change usually need how much, they say SUPER EXPENSIVE. So i quickly ask them about my warranty that they promised that it is still viable. They checked in the system and with the claim department, come back and tell me sorry sir, your extended warranty has been voided so you will have to pay. Walao, immediately I ask that person why told me differently the last time? Then they say after reviewing and stuffs, cannot approve. @$#^%#& seriously . I stormed out from Glenmarie Blue Box and brought my car to a close mechanic that I knew for long time. He diagnose it in 10 minutes, and tells me, the last time when I brought my car to fix, got touch the O-Ring? I told him the last time fixing it was because O-Ring loosen. He tells me, the O-Ring they fixed already, but no add oil back! Now the compressor hancur already because of that! And, the cabin filter that they promised to change also no change, so dirty and smelly! Thats why odor so bad! OMG man. I can't handle the heat already straight away called up Glenmarie and demanded an explanation. Know what they say? The person in charged of your car previously left already, no longer workng with us, so we also don't know what is going on. Maybe you bring your car back, wait us diagnose for few days, or 1 week, only we can know what happened. But any repair cost will still be bear by MYSELF!


I will never return to their SC anymore. So many people has been complaining about their aircond and Peugeot being a car that is easily spoiled and stuffs. Now I know why! Because their mechanics are not experts and they are even lazy to open up the whole thing to look at it! ALl they did was looking at the book that has been given, follow the book, and do it only.

I know it might be a little bias given that I was voicing out from my personal point of view, but I just want to get some advise on whether how else can I get a good explanation from Nasim and also see whether anyone else has the same horrible experience that I did.
