Guys, some noob question:-

I'm about to buy 2nd hand 408 Turbo.
1) Will the warranty void for the 2nd owner?
2) If the schedule services schedule miss for 1 month (due to its being in the used car), will the warranty void? eventhough the millage is still far from the its suppose millage service schedule.
3) How much usually will cost me for 40k km service?

For item 1warranty continues.
Just double check the price. New 2014 models are very cheap. 20K plus disxount. Even griffe model around 106k
*
Yes, I'm fully aware of the new price 2014 models. But I go for the 2nd for a reason.

The price is rm75k otr. plus it really seem like a new car, the owner rarely used it, as the millage only 20k after 2years 1month from day its register. the interior is really2 clean as well. so, I think it is a good deal...

Additional question:-

4) if the previous owner got free service (5 years or what ever), will I get the privilege as well?
5) What will it covers in the free service? Part? fluids? or only labour?

$75K is good price, especially since you say the car is in good shape & only done 20K. However I want to explain something to you. It all depends how you take my advice.

Warranty is already void, becomes void the moment service is missed 14days beyond service date, even though mileage is low.  Peugeot France is very strict on this!

Many will tell you avoid buying this car, since no warranty. The dealer will swear that's not true and warranty is valid. The choice to buy or not, is yours!

My advice, buy this car, but at a lower price. Use the no warranty to bargain for lower price. Start below $70K and try to close the deal at $70K max. This model has proved reliable, so no worries. You may face some QC issues, which you'll have 5K from the purchase price to use if needed. That is also the reason why I'm telling you to close the deal at $70K max, the $5K can be used as QC issues buffer!

Since no warranty, you can service your car at a good non SC workshop. This will cost much cheaper! 40K service is just oil & oil filter change which will cost $500 at SC.  You can get this done at $300+ at non SC workshop. I advice you to use AMSOIL fully synthetic or Mobil 1.

I can't comment on  free service as I don't know the details. Various promotion were offered at different periods. Use the car number and check at NASA outlet on the package. They will have records and details. If this is not transferable, use this as a bargain point for price negotiation. DON'T take the dealers word,he'll swear it's transferable, he'll lie like hell to make the sale!Do your own checking!

You can always get advice on issues  from us. Good luck!

Hi skyJack.. thank u very much for the advice.. for ur info, i've paid the booking this morning for this car with some changes of the deal.. the price would be rm72k + rm2.5k proc fee + rm1k insurance w/55% ncd.. yes its still rm75k otr, but i've requested them to do additional 40k service @peugeot sc and change of 2 piece of tyre (conti max, not new but agreed to be still 80% good condition)..

I've already done my homework, as the sc told me there is no more warranty at NASA, but for small/cheaper part example like gear knob etc still have warranty as the part will come from sc themselve..

So i've tried to use this as a bargaining chip, but the seller wont give a lower price as the price is the lowest in the market right now (comparing with all other online sellers).. but after few discussion, they only agreed to do service and change of tyre..

Btw- im still buying bcoz its really a good price, given if put another 5k for QC buffer, the price is still lower than the current market value..

Hi Guys, i'm in the market to buy new tyres. I'm trying to find a combo of good wet grip plus good rolling resistance. It seem to me, from UK michellin website, base on the new EU labelling regulation that PS3 225/45 17 tyre ranked very low in the rolling resistance department but very good in term of wet grip. Anyone could suggest me, any other tyre that give at least B grade for both wet grip and rolling resistance in its EU labelling, if any...

Just now did some meter clocking. I'm trying to get the best FC I can get out of my car by safe driving and auto cruising between 90-110km/j in other words, drive like an old man. The road is clear because its night time and using Mex highway to go back and forth from Saujana Putra to KL, So here's the result:-

Distance :- 90km
Fuel Consumption :- 7.2 L/100km
Avg speed :- 62km/j

so, what do you guys think?

btw - usually when I push my car a bit hard like 120kmj - 150kmj average, I usually get like 10.5 L/100km, is that normal?

Perfectly normal, is about what I'm getting. However must salute you for achieving 7.2L/100. That is 'expert uncle' style. In fact 7.2L/100 is what I'm getting on my wife's Myvi...lol.  On the Lion.... cannot la....turbo too addictive tongue.gif !
*
Lol.. ur right.. turbo is too addictive.. i.only did that to test the best FC this car can save.. there is no way i'll drive like that anymore unless my pocket were totally empty..

QUOTE(Eugene Ong @ Feb 25 2015, 03:35 PM)
Base on your Avg speed, it totally look absolute super clear. Normal hour is super hard to get that average, unless you going outstation at NIGHT.
Normal is about 30++km/j. I sure if you boost out the Avg speed, your fuel consumption even better. However that only a estimate guild lines, if you notice when you petrol is low. The meter go crazy.

Hahahaha
*
yes, it is super clear, only 1 traffic light throughout the journey, and the most of the time is highway.. still havent notice that.. but what i do notice, the fc meter will run quite fast even though your in dead stop, engine on position. Meaning if I start the engine for 1 hour, can see the fc meter goes up.. btw still only been 1 week since receive the car.. so still not really familiar with the lion..

This is not a hoax, it is not the Griffe, it is not new! Being 2014 model with 35K milage, price is not cheap. However the car looks good from the photos.

Have a look at the car documents, especially service dates.  Service must not exceed 6 months or 10K km,which ever comes first.  Balance of 4 years warranty is transferable, if it not void. If warranty is void, bargain for lower price.

There are no serious issues on this model, is worth getting it! Good luck!

Funny thing is, I've viewed the car.. They sell the car that time was 104k, and they didnt even know Peugeot got offer 105k for griffe until I told them. During that time, the purpose was to test drive their 2nd hand Preve... I try not to laugh but, my face still show some doh.gif face... haha

Actually they know, bro! These fellows are very cunning. They know there's a lot of public unaware on the latest offers. So they keep on trying, just like 'tikam'. You and I know the price, but alot of public don't. All they need is one unsuspecting customer.  Just like hellfire8888, he thought it was very cheap. If he didn't check with us, could have been hoodwinked by these crooks! These buggers can be very convincing to a unsuspecting customer.

Anyway, you managed to get a good deal. How's your car running? Any issues? Found any good workshop familer with turbo pugs?
*
Ya, maybe you're rite.. sweat.gif

About my car, today, at KESAS highway, I drive behind Exora @110km/j, who just stay at right lane.. I didn't pressure him or anything, just let him drive, bcoz for me 110km/j is ok to stay at the right lane.. But then suddenly one fag Myvi wanna showoff or something behind me by constantly giving me high beam.. Then I just slow my car to 40km/j, for 5 sec, and then speed off until he can't see me.. If not because of my wife & daughter were inside the car, I would probably let him pass and french kissing his car until I fed up..

In other word, the car run very2 good.. but now got some unknown scratches 3-4 places where I don't realize when did I got it and certainly not before I bought the car. Still haven't find any workshop, but will sooner find one.

Problem ->
1) Screeching sound during breaking.
2) Closing passenger door does not have good "Tup" sound as other 3 door.
3) One of the 3 cabin light at the back is not functioning.
4) Jerking a bit after slowing the car nearly 10km/j and to resume drive.
5) Break is too sensitive, need to have a very smooth feet to control the break.
6) Does not have touchscreen, reverse cam, dashboard is too small, & the cup holder does not really hold. whistling.gif

guys.. want to ask.. how to lock the car from inside during car moving? I ask this because, I have small child, and wanted to prevent them from opening the door during car is moving. I tested opening the door (from driver seat) at 20km/h, and it successfully open eventhough already been locked. I haven't manage to test opening it faster, because risk of accident. Any info?

Peugeot 4S Kajang will prove otherwise.

We're currently repairing a 5008 turbo (Out of warranty) with a solution cheaper than normal

We're repairing 2 accident cars which are mildly damage.

Warranty have been smooth so far.

For those who wanna know, same management team as Mazda 3S Sungai Besi. For those with Mazda who have tried our SC, will know what we meant by Excellent Customer Ownership experience.

My 2ndHand 408T next service will be 50k (1st time).. But I think the warranty is already void, due to the previous owner sent for service 2 time late (about 1 month each).. If that is the case, I'm free to get cheaper services elsewhere.. But I still feel uncomfortable, if the mechanic elsewhere don't really familiar with the car, and they can't check throughly. So I decided to send my car here, and I really hopefull you guys can do a very satisfiying job, and with cheaper than normal service as stated above. If you guys can prove to be the case, I will definately come back again, and recommend your 4S SC to all Peug owner.

Sure bro, do make an appointment with our SC at 03-87419188. Our team will take care of you & your car.

Kindly highlight all your issues with the SC and they have to look into it.

Many thanks.

Just now, I called your SC to quote for the next service. As I read in the first page of this thread, the next major services I should do is during 60k mileage. But According to your SC guy, it should be done during 50k mileage. Is it true? Why should I wasted rm1.7k to do major service right now, because, my car actual mileage not even touching 30k yet. Previous service was done per monthly basis instead mileage basis. So, I don't think a lot of wear/tear item should be change now. Some more, previously stated supposed major service is 60k, the schedule should not be change now either. If I have no choice but to do the major service, then I have to go to other alternative workshop. Sorry..

i did my major at 40k as brake fluid looks murky and coolant looking brown after driving it for 2 years

how about alternator belt/transmission oil? you change that as well? Yes, in the schedule do show to change brake fluid during 40k, as mine was done also by the car dealer, during I bought the car.

just do it as soon as possible and of course check your wallet too

it doesn't do any harm except making your wallet lighter tongue.gif

transmission oil is 60k but since your's a second hand, who knows what the previous owner did right?

For me, for (peace of mind + waste money) Vs (logic + saving money + small % gamble), still the later win..

My car also already void warranty, so, I better go to the suggested independent workshop (earlier in this thread), and get their suggestion as well.
