Decided to share it here, DIY have help saved lots of money. Been cleaning 5 of my Daikin units for awhile, it's pretty easy and cost saving unless gas top up is needed, only then I'll call in the repairman. Below are some videos to guide you along. Ensure you know what you're doing to avoid damaging any parts. Second video shows you how to vacuum inner fan blade, removed obstructing plastic fins so as to reach further inwards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQnWbEgTLnYhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6FoFikaSCMI will also get this filter because the holes for Daikin mesh is quite big thus a lot of dust/dirt can pass through. http://www.kimrovacstore.com/mitsubishi-el...lean-video.htmlThis post has been edited by Xccess: Mar 28 2017, 02:16 PM

Nice share.
My unit is behaving weird. The metals parts inside (behind the filters) are condensed and turned ice and it will melt causing water dripping. I found that the blower hole has less than 50% of air coming out which i believe somehow the fan inside is blowing the cold air to wrong place.
Used torch light to see inside found the fan has alot of dusts stucked to it. Need to do some cleaning but kinda lazy and hard coz below aircond unit got a big cupboard blocking making hard to put ladder.

I managed to vacuum away the dirt that was stuck in the blower. Air flow was smooth and strong after cleaning.

QUOTE(Xccess @ Jun 21 2014, 03:14 PM) Nice info bro and thanks for sharing. thats what I like about the Daikin, can take out the fins to get to the blower usually this is the dirtiest part. Other brands, not sure.... if can DIY, can save Rm60 per aircon.

My service person charges me Rm60 but that is to clean the indoor blower only, not the outside compressor. Actually Rm60 also expensive, I found another that charges only Rm25 for indoor blower and Rm140 for both indoor and outdoor.

I ask my fren about this matter too causing ice is because the blower stuck and the air not enough strong, while the compressor keep make the fins cold and cold it will cause ice clean the blower its the point

Finally found the filter cloth from Diaso, was there several weeks ago but ran out of stock. Cut cloth according to size of filter mesh then slot it back in place. Air flow not restricted and negligible. This will help filter more dust and dirt. This post has been edited by Xccess: Mar 28 2017, 02:18 PM

The blower still gets dirty after some time, but probably much lesser without the extra filter. In fact, I've been using the A/C every night for almost 4 years now, without engaging a professional service personnel. Just remember to change the filter from time to time because if it gets clogged you get reduced airflow.

Yes, we can't totally stop dust from getting through, only to cut down and prolong the period before the next servicing. You must have saved a lot of money by doing own maintenance. The condenser fins still need to be cleaned by the service personnel Even the dust accumulated on the blower fins can be difficult to remove. Vacuum alone is not enough. I had to use a small brush to dislodge the dirt. Quite time consuming.

When from new installed until today, From my blower still using an extra filter, even the Aircon man nothing to said, they said like this case, if everyone to be the same, from their serving program would be cut down 80% ha ha. The 1st is aluminum fins didn't blocking on dust of the airflow still remain like new performance, just remember for change the filter on every month only.
