IMO,wait 2.1.0 patch released first see how, don't regear an early..

I think the dog/cat and armour is not really a big issues for monks so I think no need to regear

DH can dual wield 1 hand xbow also. Nat Slayer+Helltrapper+Calamity. Pew pew pew
