Dexterity & Survivability:

A major change is coming to Dexterity to benefit Demon Hunters and Monks.
Each point of Dexterity will grant 1 point of Armor instead of Dodge chance. Dodge isn’t as reliable as Armor or Resistances and doesn’t protect you from some of the most dangerous monster affixes like Plagued or Thunderstorm. In light of this buff, the existing passives that grant 30% of your Dexterity as Armor (Seize the Initiative and Awareness) will be completely redesigned.

Healing:

The next change will be to Healing. Currently, Healing provided by gear isn't very valuable because you receive the vast amount of your healing from Health Globes. During internal testing, we discovered that as you reached higher Greater Rift levels, you really wanted more of your healing to come from your gear in order to survive. To facilitate this, we are reducing the amount of healing Health Globes provide, but buffing Life on Hit and Life Regeneration on gear to compensate. This change should make a more consistent experience when you turn up the difficulty (or reach a higher tier in a Greater Rift) in situations where you’re not killing as quickly and actually require the increased Healing.

Firstly STI give 1 Dex=1 armor... then axxhole at blizzards suggest to reduce it to 50%.. it become 30% in 2.0.. then now back 1dex=1 armor w/o STI rclxub.gif still a good idea but lizard play pusing2 here biggrin.gif

Im not surprise if they bring back life steal, with several "changes" ofc biggrin.gif

Health globes been nerfed..will it affect reaper wraps?

Also, confused here... we need to level up new chars for seasonal boards?? which means blacksmith/jeweler lvl1.gold start back at 0 just like HC- char?
how about paragon levels..?

1. 1 Dex = 1 Armor, most of the monk have 8000+ dex, so we got 8000+ armor free. rclxms.gif
2. Harmony replace for OWE, with 30% of single resist number stack into AR.

Just some additional clarification, since I see some confusion on the new passive:

Harmony will apply 30% of a single resist to all other resistances aside from the element it normally provides (meaning it doesn't double-dip on itself). Here's a math-y example in hopes this provides a clearer picture:

I acquire a piece of gear with 100 Fire Resist. From that gear, I'm gaining 100 Fire Resist and 30 Resistance to all others.

Hope that makes more sense. smile.gif

Gear = 1000 AR, 800 Lit Resist
With OWE = 1000 + 800 = 1800 AR
With Harmony
= 1000 + 800*.3 = 1240 AR
= 1000 AR + 800 LR = 1800 Lightning Resist
not bad as well, we no need worry on the gear to must have the same single resist. thumbup.gif

at least no need to use 1 passive slot to achieve 1dex=1armor. the passive will be redesign for other things biggrin.gif

Even taking armor into calculation, I actually have less mitigation (~20%) due to my heavy investment on OWE. See the calculation here:

this is only good for ppl which is having hard time finding the same single resist.
it is bad new in your case. anyways, this is not finalize yet right?

DEX used to gain 1 point of armor.
Blizz nerfed it.

This was bandied around. Since dodge cant work on most elemental damage, some people actually suggested dodge = % of AR.

I think that would have been a better change say if I got 40% Dodge chance, if dodge grants say 20% more AR, based on my current monk AR now I would get 1.6k + 20% = 1.92k AR.

I would preferred that... rather than a lazy workaround like 1 dex = 1 armor but totally kills of dodge mechanism. MOE also needs rework then...

Agile monks RIP.

Don't know how they going to compensate that..we just have t PTR it and see how it goes.

IMHO, I don't like this change. Sure, monks needed to be buffed but by removing dodge form the game....defies the purpose of monk.

Might as well just roll a barb/ Cru then

Also, the removal of OWE. It was the only passive that makes Monk special. And now they are removing it? Pftt. Blizz, please don't fix what is not broken!
