Guys, which brand of TKL carry some rare switches such as MX clears, green and black? No kastam of course. Would like to go for MX switch next and the normal MX switches just doesn't really do for me. So, would like to try the others.

need to find other PJ/KL/Selangor kaki to help u liao haha!

either that, or you can go Heavy arms at subang to try it out. they *should* have a few switches for you to try, blue, black, red, brown...

i know of one person who have multiple switches on his keyboard since i'm the one who assemble for him  whistling.gif

i suddenly sensed a good set for bulk, and came in here to check if there was any, and found graphite, LOL, my sense of good buy is still active despite not in mkb chatter

I believed you are the 1 with Topre 55g for 1st keyboard.

Why you don't like common MX switches?
Uncommon switches (not rare at all) like green, clears, you can get those keyboards from WASD / CODE.
Even ergo clear, vintage black also not consider as rare, just uncommon.
Some lacks of popularity.

If you looking for rare, maybe you can source from dadude, MX jailhouse Blue. 100% custom.
First time heard also from him, then only find online see the review.

Yeah I bought a Topre as 1st mech keyboard. It's not that I don't like the common one, it's just that the switches are a little too light for me and IINM, the uncommon one are pretty heavy so I would like to try it. Any example of brand for the ergo clear type? Also, does the CODE keyboard use the same layout(size of CTRL, ALT, Spacebar) as the common TKL(Filco)?

Jailhouse blues feels like really good ergo clears. No need lube or stickers, you'll get similar response.

I'm using plain old MX Blues on the Lightsaver v2. The build isn't complete yet because I need to change my plans completely for this board.

Ya, CODE keyboard use same layout like TKL.
Never have any brand with MX ergo Clear. MX ergo clear only on custom.
You can get MX Clear from CODE keyboard.

I just have a read on jailhouse blue, do you use superglue to stick the stem together or some other method? Since already have blue stem removed and in storage, might as well go for it

I use 1mm o-rings. Best balance because it makes it really soft without making things permanent. Downside is that assembly takes a looooong time.

Currently re-thinking my whole setup for the lightsaber, because I am changing my plans from Jedi to Sith smile.gif

Hello peeps!
I'm in a slight, okay maybe not, dilemma.
I'm deciding on a mkb. My main usage will be for typing and not for gaming, as I rarely do.

Needs; backlighting (a big "must'), media keys (a small 'must' tongue.gif), full size (which rules TKL out)
Don't needs; macros, no clicky switches

I've been looking at the Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014 and K70. Both have issues with quality and I'll be upset if I luck out with something that expensive. I currently use the XArmor U9BL-S to which I've like the switch (brown) but hate its quality.

By the way, why all your choices and your current keyboard are gaming keyboards?

It coz of the bling bling effect. I haven't been following up the MKB releases for non-gaming keyboards.

Ducky Shine 3 or Deck may suits your taste for backlit with bling2 effects and come with media keys.
Both brands come with full layout and do not have macro keys.
If you don't like clicky, then only MX brown will be recommended as linear switches (red, black) not preferable for typing use.

The deck hassium pro looks good. gotta get use the their font though.
Is the hassium pro compatible with Macs as I'll be using the keyboard with my mbp.
Oh, and that wooden keyboard at Pg 1 looks wicked awesome!
Any idea on how much it'd cost for a non-custom (if there is lol)?

Just don't worry about those font. Most of the mkb users here changed after-market keycaps.
More selections, more bling2 choices. Some keycaps set even more expensive than the manufactured keyboard.

Yup, Deck is compatible with Mac.
Since, original Deck is for Windows, the bottom mod from left to right is Ctrl, Win, Alt, Spacebar and so on.
If you connect to mac, then will become, Ctrl, Command, Option, Spacebar and so on...
Win = Command
Alt = Option/Alt

You can remap the position back to your preferences using software Karabiner (previous name is "keyremap4macbook" ) to...
Ctrl, Option, Command, Spacebar and so on...

Most of functions are working perfectly.
Just those keys like numlock, scroll lock are not functioning. These 2 keys are unavailable in Mac.
For tenkey on right hand side, Mac do not need Numlock to use the numerical numbers keys.

I can only save 2 bucks from there. IMO they should lower the price for modifier and RGB sets too.

I'm not joining the granite GB because I'm saving up for something else.

Granite is nice, but.. Not sure I wanna get another DSA set. Currently waiting on the Pulse set and the Midnight SA set. Whichever goes live when I am rich...

biggrin.gif

As an aside, please buy this set if you're looking for a good DSA set. One of the best around.
