Home prices in Johor state, which takes in the huge Iskandar development zone, dipped in the second quarter for the first time in more than two years.

Prices of high-rise units - which have sprung up in large numbers recently in Iskandar - tumbled 13.5 per cent from the first quarter.

The figures are from Johor's House Price Index (HPI) in a recent Maybank IB Research report.

It showed that the overall index fell 1.6 per cent quarter on quarter - though it was still up 4.6 per cent from the second quarter last year.

The slide has been caused by the Malaysian government's cooling measures from January, said analyst Wong Wei Sum of Maybank IB Research.

I think KTM is testing water and if well accepted could increase the frequency. Note that the trip is only 5min and only need to go thru Malaysia & Singapore Immigration at Woodlands. For the students and factory workers etc 5min is a godsend esp during peak. If it uses similar 4-coach train like KTMMomuter in KL with a capacity of 1000 equivalent to 25 buses with 40passengers it wil relieve the Causeway traffic. It will be nice to see the train ding-dong-ing on the causeway.

No, they are laughing at us here talking about iskandar.. some of my singaporean friends who are big time investors in KL n penang (to some extent) still don't believe in Iskandar..

they are asking the same question as me: When will the RTS be built? When will they award the contract? until then iskandar is one big cluster of apartments.. good luck investors

Me also doesn't believe the Iskandar dream....Thank GOD the singaporean also didn't buy the promise there..hehe
