I must thank both yeapch01 and jjj2 for not resorting to replying by PM to availability questions.

The dissemination of information is so much smoother and immediate.

Kudos.  thumbup.gif

Hi Bro,

This happened since 2 months ago..u can check back the previous posts too...
Actually its not Time block Thunder (Xun Lei) P2P traffic, in fact its Time's IP being blocked by Thunder...
You may noticed your free Thunder account when begins to start download will show 'download error'..
Pls PM me if you need some get around on this.

Thanks.

U sure was Thunder block our Time Fibre?
But y they dint block Streamyx or other broadband? shakehead.gif

Ya! Now when i click start download button on Thunder
it will show "Download error".
So sad about that, my Thunder still VIP member, already bought VIP before cry.gif
Bro, u know how to solve the problem?
*
Yes sure.

The software is built in such a way that after you click download, it will check your IP..
There are range & many TM IPs also being blocked, but some are still going fine...
The temp solutions are either to use alternative software (eg. µTorrent) to download like what you are using now...
For those files that must require Thunder to download...try look for alternative sources.
Another way is to spoof your IP at the beginning, after that use back your Time connection to proceed with the download...

VIP member should be able to run...

Thanks.

Izit temporary or permanent Thunder block our Time Fibre IP?
U means can buy VPN and change IP?
But i think a bit expensive and the speed unstable loh! cry.gif
I feel that Thunder download speed more faster than other P2P download software cry.gif

Hi Bro,

Cant be sure...this is their policy under some higher level instruction from their country..
Just like qvod, previously was shutdown...but now it's gradually back...

Thanks.

sad.gif Here's the problem. Assuming the landed property is literally surrounded by apartments that are 100% covered by TIME FIBRE? Because that was the case with my parents and i got a crappy CS guy who did not know how to respond "nicely" to my inquiry.

In all seriousness; my parents house is LITERALLY a stones throw from the nearest apt (1st is only 100+ ft; another 2x apartments is abt 200+ ft. SO literally left right centre covered by apartments). And they're not the only house on the street the small street; there's about 12 houses max......

*(The CS's answer was "Cannot sir, cannot" ; "Why Cannot?" "Because Cannot Lor"; "Why CAnnot" "Because cannot mar!"; "Why?!" "Because very expensive lor"; "How Expensive" "Dunno sir"; Hangup....).

Basically what's the timeline like for TIME to install TIME FIBRE in housing area's? THey going to start in 2015? 2016? Never?

I'm a little ticked because of the mood the TIME Cust. Serv. set me on when asking about landed property installation.
*
Hi Bro,

I understand your frustration about your current situation where your landed property is just a stone throw from the RFS (ready for service) apts or condos...
We've also come across terrace houses where they are less than 10 metres from Time manhole, where the opposite apartment actually has the service.

To provide services to these landed houses is not something impossible or so hard to do in terms of engineering/ technical implementation work involved...the issue here is the company's direction, the cost involved, permit, ROI etc...
We are not in the position to comment much detail on TDC's policy...

Talking about the CS answers...May I know who is the person who spoke to you ? Usually response in such manner is not something common.

Feel free to buzz me, I can explain more details about the technical work & perhaps costing involved in preparing the service into landed properties.
Oh ya...maybe some alternative solutions too...

Cheers smile.gif

By replacing default Cisco Linksys E1200 to Asus RT-N56U, will it make a huge difference in terms of surfing, downloading, streaming online?

I'm staying alone so nobody is sharing the network.
*
Hi Bro,

Dont replace yet, try the Linksys E1200 first, do some thorough test in downloading, streaming etc...if you are not satisfied then only change...sometimes normal browsing & downloading will not give you significant difference.

Thanks.

Surfing and streaming, I am unsure. But for downloading, the RT-56U is very convenient - with an external USB hard drive connected to the router, I can download stuff at the router (a web applet called Download Master) directly without needing a PC, plus a few other extra features like VPN, DLNA media server, FTP server etc..

Not forgetting the fact that the RT-56U is a concurrent dual band wifi router - both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.
*
RT-N56U also has multiple simultaneous sessions handling capability far more better than the buggy e1200..

If yr condo has tons of wifi network detected, its good to utilize the 5GHz band for this router..

Thanks.

Hi all bro,

My contract with Maxis Fiber 10mb promotion (Rm118) had finished and thinking of jumping boat, I had bad experience with it, I am living in Pelangi Damansara Condo and the downtime of the internet sooooo frequent!

My modem been replaced more than 4 times within 2 years, the longest time for them to get it fix was 10 days! of cause la they didnt charge me for 10 days, now I get the latest modem and router still not good, occasionally I will dced from it.

Thinking of getting Time fiber as the 100mbs package quite attractive...  Any sifu/bros can help me?

Hi there, I am still having intermittent connection , freezing issue with my cisco router even after upgrade the firmware to V2.0.06. Does changing a better router really solves the problem, if yes pls let me know which model thanks
*
Hi Bro,

Based on our real tests, changing the firmware does not really solve the issue, in fact new batch already preconfigured with this new firmware.

There are plenty of models that 'passed' our tests & functioning well.

Please PM me your budget & I'll let you know the good ones.

Cheers smile.gif
