Yeah bro. It's on and off with that hop. One week ok, 2 weeks bad and so on.

I've resorted to using a tunnel service now to bypass it. Have already made my report to Astro IPTV 3 times about this problem but it's still not resolved.
*
Hi Bro,

Please cc Time as well, hope they can liaise with their partner, Singtel & then Equinix.

This on & off problem still not fully resolved since 2013.

P/S : Feel free also to pm/email me the trace route results for further checking.

Cheers smile.gif

I'm still reading through the thread, but any suggestions on alternative router (since jjj2 told me that the official router kinda sucks when I signed the contract).

If possible, preferably something that supports dd-wrt (might as well start play around with dd-wrt if I'm changing router, back in Unifi I just use the default cokia router haha)

Hi Bro,

Yup E1200 is kinda buggy...inconsistent performance, intermittent connection drops or hang issue are spotted.

Please check out

Feel free to check out your pm for some tuned up suggestions.

Hmm... just completed my relocation service... just a few hours later suddenly the internet is down, LOS light blinking steadily, TEL1 also blinking (slower)

Last few hours even when turning router off and on multiple times doesn't work. Should I just call CS or is there anything I can fix on my end?

Update: called CS, all they did was tell me to pull the optical cable, switch off on, then when the LOS light still blink they just said to hold for a report number and they'll get back to me in 24 hours. Very frustrating lah, waited over a month for relocation already, within a few hours problem...

Hi Bro,

Very big possibility fibre connector problem...gotta wait for Time Installer to come to check & redo the termination.

Thanks.

Effective on 1 Dec 2014, TIME Fibre 100Mbps Home Broadband now comes with a new throttlling speed of 10Mbps.
Before 1 Dec 2014, it's currently being throttled to 1Mbps when the 100GB Quota is reached.

this is even nicer..

Congrats 100Mbps subscriber, you are definitely sign up to a good plan

after 100GB quota , you still got 10Mbps speed
*
Not too bad la...at least 10x increase of the throttled speed compared to last time.

Hello, just moved to new place in Damansara Damai. Checked my area is covered, but not sure on the services and performance for TIME.

Have been using Unifi for years, so far no problem, no disconnect, no modem blinking all. The reason got attracted cause TIME offered better packages which is RM130 for 8mbps while Unifi RM149 for 5mbps.

Read the thread saw TIME are using modem known as Linksys E1200 Router, and giving alot of problems?

For me is just normal usage, like streaming and online. Will it lagged when stream for Youtube with 1080p resolution video?

Please share your experience LYNers, much appreciated :respects:
*
Hi Bro,

Thanks for your interest in Time Fibre Home Broadband smile.gif

Well...so far the following problems spotted on E1200 Linksys Router, (frequency of happening varies from user to user) :

1) Frequent/Intermittent connection drops, sometimes auto connects back, sometimes not.
2) Intermittent Hang, Unable to Obtain IP Address from Router (Restart Router solves the problem, Problem comes back after some whiles).

Streaming Youtube at 1080p is no problem at all when the Router is working in good condition.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply, do TIME allow customers to use their our own personal router? If compared with Unifi and TIME beside the price, what other advantages are for TIME?  unsure.gif
*
Hi Bro,

Yes, you may use your own personal Router.

Time is using 100% Fibre which means all the way from its OLT --> FTBs --> Splitter --> ONU (aka Fibre modem at your house) will be all fibre.

This translates to better stability, speed, quality of service, lower latency & enhance your user experience.

Time is also the first provider & currently the only one that provides 100Mbps full fibre FTTH solutions to home users.

Feel free to PM me if you require further details.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. It's even better if TIME itself send sms to customers immediately so that we don't have to panic and keep finding solutions. Last time P1 used to have this kind of practice.

Hi bro,

I was wondering, do you know about Time's future plans with regards to what condo next to be connected with Time Fiber? My condo is currently under construction (Seri Riana in Wangsa Maju, KL). I wonder if that condo is planned to have Time Fiber once it's completed.
*
Hi Bro,

Wangsamaju area is gonna take a longer time as Gpon facility is not ready there.

Please do check out my PM for more details.

Thanks.

i scared now. finally astro got off their lazy ass and installed my IPTV/Internet after 4 weeks [!], and now hearing the e1200 is troublesome. gives me a good reason to get an AC router  thumbup.gif

also, question for all the masters here. are there specific lan ports for the IPTV boxes to be connected on the ONU? i did some rearranging and had to move around all the equipments, and when i plug the astro stb into LAN1/2, it didnt work. 3/4 only seems to work.
*
Ya good idea Bro...AC Routers today is getting cheaper evryday...

Pls connect yr Router WAN port to LAN1 port of the ONU.
Connect Astro STB to LAN4 port..

Feel free to pm me should you need further technical guides.

Thanks.

to all taiko here... time is coming to install at my condo this saturday..i got a few question... im getting asus rt-ac87u wireless router , i think it should be supported as ac66u is supported as well... just want to ask.. how to setup my asus router ya?? any guidance here?? (ordered the router but haven't got it yet so most probably cant ask the installer to setup for me)
*
QUOTE(freestyler @ Dec 1 2014, 10:36 PM)
or should i get this router NETGEAR Nighthawk X6???
*
Hi Bro,

The Asus Router AC87U will be in Malaysia somewhere around this month or Jan 15... My team have already tested it...It's superb in terms of performance...!!

No worries, Nighthawk X6 will work just as well with Time Fibre... but my advise, get Asus AC87U...it tops X6 !

Oh ya...you can ask Installer to install but they gonna charge you as this is not Time's equipment.
Feel free to text me if you need any help setting it up.

Cheers & Good Day smile.gif

Hi Bro...not necessarily have to get AC routers.. there are cheaper 802.11N routers.

Pm me if you would like to know some good tested routers.

Thanks.
